The main purpose of this list is to provide people with a list of people of known crafting ability and trustworthiness who are willing to do commissioned crafts. The secondary purpose of this list is to provide some protection against scams and scammers. In order to fulfill these dual goals please provide updates to your crafting levels if you are willing to do commissioned synths, and list the methods and what was lost if you are scammed. If there is a debate about someone's crafting abilities or trustworthiness please be ready to submit screen shots, or show a signed item of sufficient craft level.
When trying to find a high-level crafter for a commissioned synth please keep the following things in mind. First, crafters are people too and play this game to have fun. If it's fairly clear from their location that they are busy doing something else, it may be better to wait to ask about getting something commissioned. Second, most crafters won't assume responsibility for the materials, so if the synth breaks you can't yell at them. Third, have the materials and synthesis recipe ready when you ask the crafter to do the synth. Fourth, each crafter has different price structures for different synths. For the most part these fees are non-negotiable and are designed to protect the crafter's investment in time and gil from being taken advantage of. For example, if a bonecrafter says they want 500k gil if they HQ a scorpion harness for you, it is not an appropriate response to say, "I could level bonecraft myself for that much." If the fee is too much, simply say so and move on. Finally, the sub-craft requirements for some synths are either unknown or debated. Therefore, I will only be listing people's subcrafts if they are 'full' e.g. 60 or 60+1.
With regard to avoiding scammers. Remember that scammers often use multiple characters and accounts, so they are often hard to spot by a single name. Therefore, it is more important to identify the methods that have been/are used by scammers so that people can avoid them. The standard 'crafting' scam is for someone to identify themselves as someone capable of doing a synth, taking the materials and then logging out. Someone that has worked at a craft or cares at all about the reputation of their character would never do such a thing because scamming will destroy their reputation and effectively block them from end-game activities and future commissioned synths. My advice to avoid being scammed to never shout in jeuno or whitegate for a crafter, to try to use people on this list or are otherwise known to you, to verify someone's crafting levels by asking to see a high-level signed item by them, or asking them to do a cheaper synth of a similar level before your synth.
Something has already come up in the first 24 hours of me managing this list. If one high level crafter accuses another of lying about their craft skills, I will ask both parties to submit screenshots or prove via another method that they have the craft skills they say they do. The obvious motivation of such an accusation is to remove competition. If someone does not respond within a week of me notifying them of such an accusation, I will tag their information with an 'Unwilling to prove' note.
In light of some odd requests and comments that some high level crafters have recieved recently I am adding the following mini-Section:
How to ask for a synth:
1) Gather the materials required for the synth.
2) Send a tell asking if the crafter has time to discuss a synth.
3) If the crafter has time to talk, ask their conditions and price for performing the synth. Be ready to answer questions about the required craft levels and any key items which might be required for the synth.
4) If the terms are acceptable to both parties, follow the crafter's instructions to get the synth done.
About pruning the list:
1) People involved in painfully obvious RMT will be removed, as will second hand accounts that are now questionable
2) If a character or the person who the character is supposed to be a mule of isn't active on the Jeuno AH for a month they will be removed.

Hyriu,
Please have Larrymc contact me.
This list is an updated version of the one that Kudoma had. Not all people with high crafting skills want to do commissioned synths and I would like to avoid adding people without their express permission. By posting someone's name on this list, they'll get odd requests for synths at rather inopportune times (like when you're fighting the dynamis lord), so I'ld rather not add people without them explicitly saying they want to be added.

Goldsmithing is the only one where people are identified as JP, NA, or EU. Mostly because most of the JP goldsmithers speak english or are at least adept at using the autotranslate function, and for a long time there were no 90+ NA or EU goldsmiths. Please remember that this is not a comprehensive list, rather it is a list of people that have (at least once) have said that they would like their craft skills known and have not subsequently asked (me at least) to be removed from the list.
I have figured out what I'm going to do about people accusing other people about lying on their craft skills. I will ask both side to produce some sort of evidance that their craft skills are as advertised (screen shot perfered, even if it's an out-of-focus one taken via a celular phone, if that is not avalable a level 100+ item signed by the crafter, seen by me). If such evidence is not provided within a week of either making an accusation or being notified of an accusation against you, your information will be taged with an 'unwilling to prove' note.

I withdraw my comment, as it was an unneccessary worry
I thought this was an important part of the original post.
How not to get scammed:
1.) Never send money or items to someone's mog house to pay for items or crafting.
2.) When purchasing items from individuals always use the trade function and always check that the items are what the person says they are before you confirm/complete the trade. IE: Not paying for an Insect Wing when you paid for an Emperor's Hairpin.
3.) People have been known to shout or message people that they are selling rare items in bazaars for cheap and that the first person to check them for it gets to buy it for the lower price. Do not fall for these and always check the item names before purchasing. People have been fooled into buying Lizard boots instead of Leaping boots with this method.
4.) Along the lines of Bazaars; Always check that the bazaar price is accurate to AH price before buying. Many people have been known to attempt to sell single items in bazaars at the price that stacks are on the AH to try and trick people.
5.) Always use known crafters.
6.) If you don't know the crafter and they claim to be high level crafters then ask to see their crafting gear. IE: Apron, Glasses, etc. Chances are if they claim to be high level crafter and can't show you the crafting gear, then be cautious and use them at your own risk.
7.) Do not give out your account information. You risk account and item theft this way. Do this at your own risk.
8.) Do not use third party programs, especially hacks and bots. This can get you suspended and even banned. In other cases these programs have been known to send your account information to the programmer so they can steal your items and/or account.

The known scammers list I think is useless because most scams are done with either bought characters or mules that people run from the main cities. I am also very hesitant to be responcible for a 'known scammers' list because I'm scared that such a thing could be manipulated and used to destroy inocent people's reputations. As an ordinary player I simply lack the tools to verify anyone's stories (and at least some of the people that make accusations I know scammed me waaaayyyy back when I did BCNM40's). The rest of that part is just common sense. I address the same issues in one of my introductory paragraphs, and the original thread still exists. I have just added a link to the original thread a the end of the paragraph stating that I've been given permission to take over this thread.
The paragraph that was here has been deleted.
I'm am trying to be as fair as I can about this list, keep it updated, and try to evaluate people's claims and accusations in a impartial manner. Kuniva has now show proof that his craft skills are what he says they are, please do not turn this thread into a flame war.
BTW, the only two ways I know to take a screen shot without using a 3rd party program without the windower are to use either photoshop or the GIMP (GNU version of photoshop) to take a screenshot of the whole destop. Manipulated screenshots are easy to detect, although determining the original information is nearly impossible in most circumstances.

High level jp goldsmithers were on the original list because there were no 95+ NA when the list was created. I dont think we need them on the list anymore. But thats just my opinion.

uh that thing in windy was me and jack's way of checking your craft level, its a little sketchy when you just run away, or as you say "bug" you. ive never seen a [Kuniva] signed piece before thus why i wanted to know if you had cloth 100.
oh and if you dont think jack has 100 cloth please check who has made all reflect dalmaticas and his own mahatama legs, if you dont take that as proof it at least means hes above 95 to actually make a success out of a cursed dalm
