why is
it because SE gave out an in game item for attending, people want to make it seem like people paid for JUST an
item. It's paying to go to an event, and getting that as a bonus.
I've never seen people freak out like
this because a company gave out promotional items.
" I paid 150 bucks to get a plastic baseball batt, oh,
and I saw a baseball game"

Holy
shit some of you are totally lost. The argument is:
1) Registration costs were $85
2) For the $85
you get to attend the show and everything that came along with it. As a bonus prize you get an in game item for
just registering ( aka the moogle rod ).
So what's this mean? You can get the moogle rod for just
registering ($85) and not even have to go to the show, because bottom line is it's up to you if you want to go or
not after you've paid. So essentially people who are unable to physically be there can still obtain the moogle
rod by registering.
The OP isn't saying people were stupid to attend the show just to get the item. They're saying SE is
similar to RMT's in the sense that you can register for $85 to get the Moogle Rod and not even have to physically
be at the show. For what other reason would SE state that you don't need to physically be there in order to get
the Moogle Rod if not for the sake of just milking anyone stupid enough to pay the $85, when they know they wont
even go to the show, just to get the Moogle Rod. If SE didn't want to look shady, then they should have kept the
moogle rod an exclusive item for people who actually physically went.

They
most likely did it for the same reason people are complaining that it was being sold without physical presense.
"People complain". They knew first hand people would have been upset and screaming not fair for people who could
not attend such a fan fair or even just the fact that people were getting a rare/ex item that they themselves
could not obtain.
In a business model the question is asked "Why the hell not?". It's a matter of
pleasing some, and detering others. You can't have 100% satisfactory model in a situtation like this. They chose
the route that could obtain them money. It pleases a few at the sake of others. If it would have been the other
way. I'm a good 90% sure we'd still see forum posts on here about "How's it not fair" or "Unjust" of Square. In
the end Square in the terms of choice were in both a lose/lose situation and a win/win situation.
I'll
never understand how people can so eaisly jump down the RMT throat of Square, Sony, NCsoft and other that they are
first hand themselves trying to be RMT sellers. They are a company. They make money? Were we expecting them to
openly hand out free candy? Is the videogame insdustry companies suppose to be different then the real world
regular model of a company?
Sears sells you a nice new Dishwasher. You then find out they will install it
for a fee. You are not surpirsed this is how it works. Don't be surprised. They are making money, they are doing
what they do. Welcome to 21st century bussiness.
Sorry, Just had to let out some steam after not being able
to do PM4-2, due to a ls member d/cing.

said it all..
No reason to complain about this.. Hell i live in norway europe. And for me to attend any
events at al cost me a long airship ticket. etc etc. but i dont go buying a moogle rod even... But if some of my
Norwegian ls mates would have bought it , I would understand why they did. Cause they dont have 1400$ to take a
trip to NA..
Well lets all just play and stay nice to each others.

#2 If you read the stats in one of the Earlier messages it said the rod grants Mog House
access anywhere, thus Change Job/Subjob storage etc. Not really bad, but not really worth $85

for that price it better have "Enchantment: Mog House Access
[Max Charges: 1 / Equip Delay: 30s /
Reuse Timer: 24h]"
[Max Charges: 1 / Equip Delay: 30s /

and this is why we learn how to read.

Yeah, you get it as a BONUS for going to the event.
If you paid for the ticket and didn't even go to the event, or whatever just to get the moogle rod, not
the greatest idea ever.
The moogle rod gives a pie to a party member every 20 hours, it has 1 DMG, info
taken from Somepage, it has .dat on moogle pie too.
Anyway, it doesn't say what the pie does, but you can only give it to a party member, not yourself.
So if you were expecting it to say "Enchantment: Triple experience, Max experience bonus: 200000, Max
duration: 200 hours, infinite charges" too bad...
This isn't really RMT, I prefer to have 100k over a
moogle rod that just gives some pie that probably changes the party member to a moogle for 5 minutes (funny, but
not worth it).
For those who paid for this and never went to the event, well you just paid $85 just for an
event item like a charm wand or a bamboo katana.
