I have black mage and ninja both to 75, but by far I enjoy playing ballista on my ninja a lot more.

I want to talk to other ninjas to get ideas for strategies and equipment setups...

Currently this is my setup:

Taru NIN/WAR (levelling samurai for subjob, currently 25)

Mamushito +1 x2
Bomb Core (want ungur boomerang)
Optical Hat
Evasion Torque (have peacock charm, but prefer the evasion skill)
Waetoto's Earring (might get evasion earring one day)
Elusive Earring
Scorpion Harness (want osode, but that'll be in a million years)
Rasetsu tekko (Might try seiryu's kote if I get it, have dusk but dont want to walk slow)
Bomb Queen Ring
Jaeger Ring
Amemit Mantle +1
Swift belt
Byakko's Haidate
Ninja Kyahan (at night), Fuma Sune-Ate (at day)


I'm just wondering, do Mamushito get the same bonus on thundersday during ballista as they do fighting normal mobs? I know the proc rate increases a lot. I was considering also getting the thunder obi to see if that increases the proc rate... however I'm not sure if that works even outside of ballista (with weapons). Can anyone verify that?

Fully level your samurai sub and replace any evasion gear with Str/Dex/Acc. Because all in all its just about how high your Blade: Jin can do not having a complete asuran fists miss you. Conform! Dmg > Survivability

Proc rate is naturaly higher on PCs due to weaker resistence but screw stunning Fudo/Senjuinrikio ftw:dozingoff

Do you think haubergeon would be better than scorpion harness? I could still make up the str in other areas (for example, +10 str from both pieces of taru RSE 2), and keep harness... hmm...

Probably its good for nin to WS then get away not really needing to worry about evasion, expecially in no cap where people have capped merit on their weapon. And the negative ice element makes bind stick regaurdless of NINs Resist bind trait most of the time.

i use nin/rdm for ballista, its gold in 40cap where you can just bind and nuke away, its practically unstoppable without being silenced or resisted, besides BLMs Ga II spells.

It dosent matter what class you are, if you are wearing a scorpion harness, you become a target for bind, pararalize, Blizzard and Blizaga tiers.

Mages are aware and take advantage of the negetive traits of what armor they see you wearing, especially somthign as obvious as scorpion harness.
