I'm interested in returning to the Ballista scene now that I'm a 60SMN. What gear should I be using? I'm a taru, so maybe HP and EVA gear? And what sub would be best for me? I have NIN at 14ish with Utsusemi and Tonko, but would I need it capped for it to be useful in Ballista?

fish tacos helped me in bastilla 50 cap, and /whm too. lol drg got mad at me a lot for it took him a lot to get me down to 80 hp, then he saw DS and started to fume. Cure 3 = full cure. took 4 ppl to kill me, love my fish tacos they not just for tanks too. ^^ goona start fishing so my freind can make em for me for free, i find myself using def food for a lot of stuff these days. also rember ppl think smns are easy kills make sure you tell your pt to make begining of battle to use you as fishing bait to lure them into ambush.

Yeah but Dancing Edge does 350 dmg to me >WITHOUT SA< in 60 cap. Which is what you'd notice had you read my previous post correctly >_>

I don't know the actual modifiers on plain old dancing edge itself without looking it up, but I'm sure that plays into it as well.

This is the part that would help in that direction.. also the recent nerf reveals that everything past the first two hits in any multi-attack ws (at least for those dual-wielding) was unmodified damage. Meaning that the last 4 hits of Dancing Edge were treating you as a real Even-Match mob to that thief.. and we all know how hard we hit versus even matches.

Nowadays the damage will be less, I'm sure.. I know I took far less from it in recent matches (I've been hit with 450-500 damage Dancing Edges with no sneak involved as well before.)
