I am just getting back into ffxi. during my final days when i was last playing i thought i heard about a lvl 5 ballista. is this bogus?

To my knowledge there's a lvl1-cap Ballista people can setup in Diorama-Ghelsba.

Just get a Lv5 job in 10 cap with a bunch of friends.

Be forewarned though. Lv 1 vs. Lv 3, even with Hundred fists the 3 will win.
