Soooo, I'm doing this with my friends Mule character - Taru Male, his an Elvaan Female. We grouped up and spoke to the Moogle, and I started with the Tarutaru Male single. He wanted a Tarutaru Female, so my friend went to her - they match up perfectly.

I spoke to the Galka, and he wanted a Mithra. So, Reagan ran to the Mithra female...and she wanted a Hume Male? And after that, the Hume Male wanted an Elvaan Female (The Female wanted an Elvaan Male) and the Elvaan Male wanted a Hume Female (who wanted a Galka).

They aren't matching up, and this is the second time it's happened when I've been grouped. We're doing it in order - I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm frustrated, and most likely won't even be getting the Wand this year sleep.gif;;

Any tips? Because I'm about to give up.

------------------------

And Reagan sacrificed her chocolate pieces to me, and we got it tongue.gif We didn't end up matching them with the singles, just matched chocolates to what the person wanted even if the opposite single didn't want it...got the wands O_o; Not exactly great matchmaking by a long shot.

You only have a partner to get the opposite-gender, right-side chocolates from.

That is all. <(^^wink.gif>

What your partner's NPCs want does not affect how you match the chocolates of your NPCs. You match your chocolates the way your NPCs want.

Example:
I have a Tarutaru woman who wants an Elvaan man.
My partner has a Hume man who wants an Elvaan woman.
My partner and I switch right-side chocolates.
I match my Tarutaru's chocolate with the Elvaan man piece I got from my partner.
My partner matches his Hume chocolate with the Elvaan woman piece I got.

Don't worry: said partner (my BF) didn't know, either... was a mess, but after he finally understood how to do it (and realized I sent him an IM with the somepage info), I felt all cuddly, again. <(^^wink.gif>

Oh, and BTW, I noticed this from the OP and personal experience, so this is a suggestion:

* If you continuously do this quest in one city (or hometown), it would probably then take 4 consecutive "excellent"s to get the Charm Wand +1.
* If you do this quest in separate cities, you might have to just one "excellent" per city.

My BF & I did this twice in hometown San d'Oria with no Charm Wand +1. Did it in Bastok, and I got the Charm Wand +1. He, um... didn't because he wasn't paying attention and botched up his chocolates. <(>.>wink.gif>

Can anyone confirm that you dont need to do the event at your home nation for the +1?

It is f#&#ing hard as hell to find people in Windurst to trade chocolates with....
