Yea I'm confused on that part too...

Moogle gives me quest I talk to the M NPC say that the moogle told me to talk to, does my partner go find its opposite and get the chocolate from F NPC, and we trade and talk to Moogle and get prize?

ok this is starting to piss me off, my Gf and i have been at this since 5pm.. We team up, talk to moogle then start talking to the npcs... we get our 4 chocolates each, trade them with each other... make the hearts < example mithra wants taru, we put the Attraction piece with the Desire peace> then make the hearts, give them to the moogle and then give the hearts back to the npcs. Then we talk to the moogle and it tells us that we did a ok job and gives us chocobo tickets only, WTF gives.... what are we doing wrong

I didn't see this in Dyire's guide, but it's very important.

You do not need to have matching chocolate names to create a full chocolate. Nyamavu and myself confirmed this.

Example: I talked with Hume Male, he was seeking Tarutaru Female and gave me Desire Chocolate R+L

Nyamavu then went and talked with the female taru, she was seeking a Hume male and gave Nya Amour chocolate. We traded our tradable piece to moogle and got FULL chocolates. After doing this four times we got our wands, going to do HQ today after I get home from school. This saves you a LOT of time.

What is it about events that seems to galvanize those of one country against another? I'm using Word Select and everything and yet the one Japanese player I managed to get a response from cut off communication with [mistake]... even though we had matching chocolates. I feel like such a pariah right now...

well we first did it in sandoria and each set we got we just traded in to the moogle and gave it back to the npc and didnt pay attention to what they wanted and got the charm staffs. (though two of the sets actualy wanted eachother) I had gotten a romance potion and used it before I got rid of my first unsigned wand. Then we moved to windurst and none of our people wanted eachother so we just traded all the chocolates with eachother and put the pices with who our sides wanted and I got the +1 cham wand and my b/f didnt.

so either you really do need the romance potion or somehow I did it right and he didnt >.> but I dont see that being possible...

edit:
hmm... maybe it has something to do with personalities. I see all the japanese shouting about shy tarus, and cool hume and such..

Well I finally learned that the easiest say to do this is by doing it slowly with your partner. Both start the quest with mog ok but both of you do NOT talk to any random valentoine NPC of your gender. Instead have only one of you talk to any NPC, say you start with Hume female. If that npc asks for a taru guy then your partner goes and speak with that taru guy to get that piece and trade it to each other. Then keep repeating this process so you don't have to shout for other people matches. I haven't tested this theory since i just thought of it here at work but its sounds like a way better idea than the time it takes to find someone with a match. Its also probably why there was so little shouts for it.

You been to Windurst Woods? Alot of Japanese there filling the chat with shouts. But that way does make sense if you have a partner... sadly it's just me.

That's pretty much what me and Aladwar did. It makes sense that valentine's would be a couples affair. You pair up with a player who is an opposite gender. In our case, Aladwar is an Elvaan man and I'm a Mithra. Only the singles NPCs of your gender will give you chocolates, so the men gather chocolates from the men, girls from the girls. What we did was Aladwar would go to one of the male characters and tell me who his chocolates were for. In the first case, it was a Galka looking for the Hume Female. When I talked to the Hume Female, she was indeed looking for a Galka, a match. We traded the non-Rare/Ex chocolate halves to each other, then we traded our R/L pieces to the moogle. He turned the halves into a whole chocolate heart. Then we traded the whole heart to the first NPC, the one who was seeking, in the first case for me was a whole Amour heart to the Hume Female. We repeated the process for the next 3 hearts. Not sure if it matters, but we always traded back our whole hearts before moving onto forming the next pair.

I can tell you now that we never had the same "type" of chocolate when we traded. It looks like every race always holds a specific type. Example, the Hume Female always gave me Amour pieces. I assume it's the same for the Hume Male. The only thing that matters is pairing the race couples properly. As was said, this is a couples affair. You get all 4 hearts with the same player. Aladwar and I's race couples always matched and when we'd finished with all 4 hearts, the moogle told us we'd done "Excellent" and gave us a choice from the charm wand, the romance potion, and the signing crystals. When he gets home from school later today, we're gonna work on HQ.

Dyre (or anyone else who wants to help),

I think I probably speak for others too when I say I am a bit confused with the guide. I suggestion that may help some people. Give us an example walk-through...

Say you are Elvaan male, and you party up with an Elvaan female and want to start the event...

What do you do?

Anyway Palewile what you supposed to do is what i posted before you. First you or your partner talk to any same gender NPC. So you can talk to any guy NPC in any order and your partner talks to any girl NPC. BUT! Have only one of you talk to one NPC only first. So say talked to Hume guy NPC. DO NOT let your partner talk to a female NPC. If she did already then don't you go and talk to a guy npc. Reason being is that it'll make this event easier this way. Anyway getting back on the example if you talked to that Hume guy npc and he asked to be with a taru girl then have your partner go speak to that taru girl npc to get the half you need. If you're lucky the taru girl will ask for a hume guy. If not just keep track of which NPC wants what and trade the pieces to each other accordingly. If both NPC's are indeed looking for each other then it just makes it easier so you just have to trade the pieces with each other and make the hear with the mog. Then just return the heart back to the NPC that requested it and repeat the same process with the other 3 same gender NPC's you haven't done yet. Doing it this way saves a heck of a lot more time than shouting for matches. Hopefully once you do all 4 NPC's then the mog will let you choose the wand in the list. On a side note be sure to have your partner in same zone as you before you cash in. So all in all the event is easy just have to be smart about it and take it easy for best results and spending the least amount of time. Hope this made sense to everybody.

You don't need to be in same zone when you claim prize. When me and Aladwar got our wands last night, I went to the moogle in North Sandy, he went to the one in South Sandy.

Very good, thanks.

Now, is there any need to change partners? Or can the same two people do it over and over again until they get the HQ wands?

You dont need to change partners, i did it with the same partner each time

You do not need to use the romance potion before hand before getting HQ, just have the potion (and try having NQ equipped)

The event isnt very hard guys, just get the piece you need and dont worry what combos your partner will need. It will work out in the end.

Personalities dont matter, just join up with a partner and do all four of your gender corresponding npcs, create the appropriate chocolate, and give the chocolate back to the gender corresponding npcs. Be sure to do all four Gender corresponding npcs in the city to get a prize.

If you dont get a wand as the option, you either A) mixed the chocolate pieces wrong or cool.gif traded it back to the wrong NPC (trade the completed back to the npc that gave you 2 that chocolate's pieces)

When i get hoome ill update the guide with a even simpler summary of the guide and a example run.

The NPCs wont take other chocolates and the moogle waon't make whole choclates with the wrong pieces.
