Anyway, if you're not a RNG or a THF, you shouldn't be allowed to change the types of bolts you use until you've used all 99 of them.

ATTN: RDM has a D rating in Archery and has access to Sleep Arrows and Demon Arrows. That is all. Please do not suggest an idea that could quite possibly penalize your fellow mages.

Its like a BLM using Hand to Hand and connecting everytime, thats what its like in Ballista with WAR/DRK and other jobs that use Ranged attacks is like, it gives a tremendously unfair advantage and the fact they can switch bolts at anytime. As a gift, I will allow that bow to pierce your enemy in the battlefield with the same mastery of a Thief or Ranger. Then you will truly kick arse." ...Ok...so that that won't happen. You get the idea

Nah, I see the ability for NON Ranger or THF jobs to switch bolts on the fly as a major advantage, like switching weaponry. You can't switch weapons without being penalized so why should jobs that do not specialize in archery not be penalized. If you're D or E grade too you shouldn't be able to hit your person 9 out of the 10 times you shoot. Giving them the penalty keeps the match flowing and actually makes the fight more fun instead of a person switching between sleep and bloody bolts when they're close to dying. Either they do that or they allow people to become resistant to the effects of sleep and bloody bolts so that they either start resisting sleep effects or resist the effect of the bloody bolts where they get no energy back.

well if the people took the time to lvl crossbows they should be allowed to switch freely.
And why would thf be able to switch then? I undertsand rng but thf have their evasion.
So if they run in a group it is very very hard to kill. Whereas warrior or Drk they have terrible evasion
so as a Warrior i depend on bolts to gain tp and mess around with.

RDM has a max of 210 Evasion unmerited.
Either they do that or they allow people to become resistant to the effects of sleep and bloody bolts so that they either start resisting sleep effects or resist the effect of the bloody bolts where they get no energy back.

Firstly, that's like saying you should start resisting Cure if you consistently cast it on yourself over and over.
And its true DD aren't allowed to switch weapons on the fly. And even if they were, why would they? That makes them lose TP.
Ranged attacks are fine the way they are. Even with the ability switch Blood Bolts and Sleep Bolts at will without penalty, it isn't as if it puts WAR or any other job at the top end of the survivability hierarchy. They still die just as much as any other job. What this thread sounds like is that you want to nerf other jobs because, while its true RDM is really good at holding its own ground in Ballista, suddenly some other job comes around and it isn't as helpless as you initially thought it was, when in the right hands.

I have a pretty easy time dodging bolts from a war or drk, and as a paladin of all things. If they want to waste their time and gil firing uselessly at me, that's fine. Thieves and rangers are another matter, they don't miss much.
What SE should do is make the additional effect on bolts go off about as much as the additional effect on melee weapons. Giving anyone who can use a crossbow infinite Blood Weapon seems kinda wrong to me.

well BRD get penalty just for changing their instruments, damn it >_< then they should take that away too!
(or am I mistaken and was it cuz I changed main weapon, donno too long ago I did it)

Buy a kclub, /rng, eat sushi, capped archery. That's pretty annoying.
The one thing that tops it is subbing nin, dagger/kclub, and spam cyclone.
You should start with the basics first. Keep stoneskin, phalanx, defender, etc. up. Buy damage reduction gear. Then just cure people and try to land the occasional bind and gravity. People think you're a better player if you're a cure bitch.

Can't change instrument. I usually go out with my Nursemaid's Harp, firstly for the slightly better lullaby's, and so my buffs have a bigger AoE than wind. Used to use Mary's Horn in lower caps but now use the Minne+ Harp.

Okay, what do you think with? You're a RDM, you have a D in evasion just as warriors have a D in Marksmanship. Why nerf warriors ability to use a wide range of weapons? Get yourself some evasion. As a thief I just laugh at the warriors who try to /ra me. Know your skills and improve the ones you have a bad rate at.
