Now when you talk about good players in ballista what exactly are you refering to? The people that sit around and score petras just to get top score in rankings or the people you wouldnt dare PvP by yourself?

Well, I dunno of any other WAR that did more decent against me so far This is as far as I see it, I mean, tell me some other WAR's that are good, I'll gladly edit them in =P
And about Shuto, I did see him several times in the high ranks, thats the reason I added him in really, I dont know much about him, but apparently you do, so, I'll take your advice for it =P Thats the reason I put him in though
And yes, I do go to normal ballistas, I never been in a 40 cap, did a few 30 caps, and I did around four 50 caps, so counting about...less than 20 ballistas all my life. Yes, you could say I'm still a bit of a newbie

Did you fight cetra in 60 cap as a lv 58? and yeah shuto hates me and urbanmyth because we rape him all the time, so he has all his jp friends try to jump us, normaly takes 4-5 to take me and urban (with me sleeping ppl). Good list, dont think I could add anyone else.

No disrespect to Synbois, but he knows Etupirka would fuck him up horribly in uncapped ballista. I remember the old days of Hamas trying to take on Etu as Mnk/thf before Mnk/sam was big. Syn is def. a top mnk though.

Chis gets best Drk. I'm mad at myself for forgeting his name before. He plugged me for a 1.5k guillotine over the summer in an uncapped jugner match with no buffs. Nobody has even come close to doing that to me since.

Knida you're absolutely right about Terrylle for bst. She's.. nuts with her damned tiger and his auto-flee.

Lastly, Jurio is indestructible. The fact that he's taru makes that even more amazing.

In Ragnarok server we're very often the same people playing ballista :| I still haven't ventured much in the 60s and no caps, but this is a short list of the best players I've met:

DRG: Bardak, Navien, Pakookai (and me of course, lol)
THF: Dantesparda, Hyuncel
MNK: Onyannko (she often joins ballista as BST too)
NIN: no one in particular... they just stand still and spam ninjutsu -.-;

SAM: in my Ballista matches, I see SAM just as a subjob

While of course scoring does not correlate with player skill in all cases (like WHM has harder time getting Gate Breach than melee, but he or she is still skilled if she keeps her team alive in as many situations as possible), that is a little bold to say since several of the people I've mentioned "are" top scorers while still doing their job effectively.

Whms that do their jobs right usually rank in the top 10 on Hades. You get big points for healing teammates, and spamming curega III and IV, staying hidden when you're not saving somone's life, and scoring your stacks of 5 petras whenever somone in your party gets gate breach, can easily propel a whm into the 225+ points range, putting them in contention for the number 1 spot.

Honestly, on Hades, whms seem to have it easier than most melee when it comes to scoring, because its not that hard to stay hidden, and the more people in your alliance, the more people recieve your curega, giving you more points. Best-case scenerios are the anti-blm whms, that fire off a curega III everytime their alliance gets hit with blizzaga III or the like. I've seen some whms get scores of up to 260 in matches like that.

Putting up numbers like that makes it easy to claim those gold chevrons: much more easy than the regular melee guy that has to try to put up 40+ petras a match, and get over 8 kills to even get past the 215 marker.

Then your server is very different from my own. On my server, the melee are always the top scorers. Mages (even Black Mages) are rarely the top scorers, though I suppose the fact that they rarely even come may be a factor.

Heh, I said most melee. Demi gets top scorer a lot when he plays, because of his disturbingly high kill/score ratio. The mnks (JP and NA) are always front-runners for top scorer when matches aren't even, because they can just continue to kill targets over and over, forcing either a respawn fest or scoring when all opponents are dead, and running up their score.

Its in those perfectly balanced, perfectly even matches, where no single melee has a super advantage, that's where the mages start getting on the boards in points. When a mnk can't simply walk into a pack of 5 melee, asuran, pop an d.wing, asuran again, then roll out taking only 4-500 hp, he won't get top scorer on Hades. When a thf can't roll into a pack of 10, steal and mug somone, sleep bolt them, run behind them, SA WS on them for 900+, then flee and score without getting touched by anyone, they're not going to get top scorer. Yet, when everyone is constantly weaving in and out, not dying much and playing intense and competitive on both sides, thats when your blms and whms are racking up the points. 550 points damage spread to 15 people from a blizzaga III garners a lot more points than one mnk killing somone with an asuran, much like 550 points of healing from a curega IV garners a lot more points than one drg or drk running in and one-shotting somone. Without the unfair advantage of slip-in, slip-out tactics that heavy hitters (especially heavy hitters with utsu) can employ, they're not going to be the ones claiming the top spots.

I understand about brds and whms not being able to get GB. I hate when whms cure you till they get GB then sprint away, leaving you to die. Mages and thfs are the highest scores on fenrir. Most the ppl on the high scorer list dont do shit but sit outside of battle and run around the whole match.

I'm sorry but if you actually played a healer you would know this is BS. The other day in a 60 cap match @meriph as RDM/BLM I cured roughly 10k HP or so in the course of the match. I was constantly buffing, silencing, binding, and graving. (and it was mostly all landing) I scored about 20 petras, and I died twice. I recieved 150 ballista points for one of the best ballista matches I ever played as RDM. In pashow about three weeks back I did little to no healing the entire match. I went all out sleep/bind/grav/nuke, scored roughly 20-25 petras, and got ~175 ballista points.

Healing does not give you big points. Spamming curaga and healing huge amounts of HP the entire match gives you only a fair amount of points.
