The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

IMHO, I think that you guys shouldn't be too descriptive about your life. There is nothing wrong with letting people know that you lied or some thing just don't share the exact details. Yis, I saw your pic once, and I thought you were a very beautiful girl that seems to be intelligent and a sweet-heart, but

(ZzYisZz)
I shaved my head bald and wore white for a whole year, ate on the floor, slept on the floor under a tent for 1 week, licked blood off the floor from birds that had their head cut out, had blood pour on my head ect ect.

proved to me that looks can be extremely deceiving. I understand that your religion or love had you do this, but you should visualize the image that you gave yourself, it is not something you should keep to you and your man.

I hope your life gets better in the way that you want it, not by the way of your religion.

Interesting religion when you look it. Simply because nothing is scripted about it there are no text of scripts in which to follow it's passed down through the generations orally. Then again you can only look up so much information on it because the practices are not shared widely outside of the circle of it's following.

Anywayz, yah good luck with trying to walk away from that. I would imagine since it’s not written anywhere that it’s dependant on the younger generation to pass on the beliefs to the next generation so I’m sure there a lot of pressure on you.

Holy forum posts Batman! Ha-ha so the truth finally hit the tabloids. Whelp, here goes my two cents:

Casp, good job on the research. But I'm afraid I've already dipped my feet in that lake of fire. This religion originated from the western parts of Africa from the Yoruba tribes. This is a primitive religion much like many in Africa: all similar but done in different variations. This religion is actually a satanic religion involving witchraft and trance possession involving the possession of humans by sprits which they call orishas which I will explain. But first let’s look at a bit of history. In the 1500's during the Atlantic slave trade, Africans sold their own race to people around the world which is how Cuba, Brazil, Puerto Rico and other coastal and island countries got a lot of Africans. In this slave trade the primitive religions climbed on board the ships that spread to the "new world". Cuba being from where my lovely lady is from is a country shrouded in Catholicism originating from Europe when she set sails to go on their world conquest to find new lands. Hence the reason they speak in Spanish as the language originated from Spain and other neighboring countries. The slave owners didn’t allow Yoruba practices as it was said to be demonic and were killed for practicing such acts. The Yoruba’s didn’t approve of such as they knew their religion would diminish over time if this kept up. So they cleverly decided to relate their "god" Olodumare and his minions the orishas to the real God as we know Him to the 12 disciples. Cubans not being as smart as they were in that day fell for it willingly as they African successfully made the "breed" between the two to create a religion as we know today as Santeria. However, as enticing as the two for one bargain seemed, they were in fact still doing Yoruba under a different name. Thus creating all the "traditions" that yisney was involved in to this present day. The shaving of the head is to symbolize her as a stone. This stone is to represent the stone that each sanitarian poses as a symbol of their own "god" or orisha. yisney's was yemaya, a "god" from the ocean. Yah stupid I know. Each stupid act this religion entails symbolizes the breaking down of your pride, humanity, and in turn showing your humbleness to these "gods" that claim to relate to the Disciples of Christ. Yes, it’s a huge lie. Trance possession is actually the possession of demons by summoning them through various drum beats and music. That practice is practiced in many satanic religions throughout the world. All done in the same way. Masking it as "gods" doesn’t exclude it from the truth. Casp was right. There is no official document that explains the origin or meaning of its doctrine. It’s passed down orally from gen to gen which is stated in Yoruba’s 11 commandments which are nothing like Gods Ten Commandments. Things passed over time are watered down unless recorded and practiced as such. In Africa they don’t shave you bald they actually pull all your hair out as you are held down by about 5 people. Then with a rusty pin they pierce your ears and stick a stick through your cheeks. Yes they drink blood like much satanic witchcraft practices. But yisney only had to lick it. Much of its extremes were watered down over time.

How it affected me: I’m a Christian and always have been. I accepted Christ as my savior at the age of 8. I’ve been following the KJV bible and studying its doctrine for many years. Being with yisney has always been a joy but being unequally yoked in beliefs and standards crushed me. Her traditions are laid out by her parents following their commandments. Her being a minor didn’t leave us with much choice but to suffer with their decisions for her. I was displeased and fought to keep it alive. her religion did depress her as it stripped her from being herself being forced to play a role that she didn’t want to play: to drink from satans cup unknowingly only to believe that the practice is to help her in the way of health. Religion blinds ladies and gentlemen. I think bolkin hit the nail on the head earlier. Jesus said it best "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me." not Olodumare, not and orisha, not Buddha, but Hinduism, not Allah not virgin Mary etc. I thank God everyday that Yisney accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in the month of December. The relationship has finally gotten back on track this January. Although she was finding her "peace" online doing things I showed her peace through Jesus Christ. As an imperfect human, while she was online, I was in RL doing things I shouldn’t have been, so I’m not claiming to be some perfect being by any means. I sin like anyone else. However, being that Yis and I are going by the same standard now, things for the future will be a whole lot better. Thanks.

didn’t mean to be a rude jerk all the time, I was just frustrated with the truth I was facing with her and my life behind her back that the old saying that misery loves company kicked in and tried to cause the same kind of pain through everyone else’s truths in life. Sucks but that’s the human side in me that proves the statement "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." peace guys.

You know, Takes allot of nerve to come into a community setting, even if it is virtual, and admit and own up to this kind of thing, anything really. We lie to ourselves everyday about what kind of person we are, how "cool" and whitty we are, forcing a facade of untruth on ourselves and others. I respect Yis and Ruffus for that, not everyone can face the monster in the mirror.

Aside from that you two, if you let it, this experiance while terrible, can provide you with an otherworldly inner strength of spirit. Good luck with your journey.

ZzYisZz :
This religion is called Santeria, in other words Yoruba. It's the practice of African's when they were slaves, passed on to Cuban's when the cuban's bought them.

[sea]Holy shyte! Sorry to tell you this Yis but i think your family has been mislead religion wise for decades if not century. Yoruba is a tribe in southwestern part of Nigeria. The Yoruba people practiced a cult back in the old days (some still do nowadays) which is something like Voodoo practice mixed with witchcraft. It's not a religion really, it's a cult passed down to Yorubas by their ancestors and they do so many rituals, like one of the things you said. I'm glad you got out of that religion 'cos it's fake.[/sea]

Edit: I just read Ruffus post and he explained the Yoruba thing very well. Good job bro. Thanks for opening Yisney eyes. smile.gif
