Did the multi hit WS damage nerf affect SMN?

Just noticed my penta thrusts do like 400-500 instead of 600-800 in ballista...I hope to fucking god this also nerfed Garuda's Predator Claws too. Can anyone confirm?

Ugh.......I haven't tested this extensively as my BPs just tend to fail over and over and over due to how sensitive the darn system is sleep.gif....In my recent experience, I think the answer to this may be leaning towards a yes. SMN's really very very weak in uncapped Ballista, so this is a big disappointment T_T. I think they were trying to tone down the one-shottability of mages, but the fact is that melee WS still cripple us (it only takes 3-4 more hits from a weapon before we're dead). For the moment I've quit Pvping as SMN because it's not half as enjoyable as any other job sleep.gif. Ballista == "Kill te SMN!! S-E really really needs to think of better ways to balance the Conflict scene sleep.gif.

In my experiance at no cap today, A smn actually got to use predator claws on me and did 800 damage so i dont think this effected them. If it did, then this smn is crazy good. The Ws really took a hit though i was hitting 1.4k Asuran fists against other players in my server, the highest ive seen... and now im hitting 800s to 900s Ima sad panda :/

Unfortunatly i haven't played alot of ballista recently due to the new expansion coming out, been trying to beat CoP. But wow, did they really drop that much? Still, i bet you guys can still once shot mages. At least this gives us a chance ya know to survive.

They shouldn't of droped the damage you guys do. Instead, they should of raised back to normal the damage mages do tongue.gif. that way things would be fair.

It definately is a blow to the higher tiered DDs. Rampages were hitting me for 300~ish without the use of Souleater and Last Resort, with it, about 600. Far different from the 800-900 damage they did with Souleater up before the update.

From the looks of it though, it seems to be at a set percent rate. While the Dark Knights and Warriors have gotten quite a large reduction, my Vorpal Blades have recieved less of a shaft. From about 600 pre update, they're now down to about 400 or so.

Now remember though, I'm a Paladin, so that damage I'm taking seems so small because, well, I have naturally high Defense. Don't look at the actual numbers, but the reduction in the numbers to know how bad it is.

What SE seems to be implying now is to focus more on DoT rather than the "WHOAMGDMG" Weapon Skills. It's funny now though, because the die hard Ballista goers now are few and far between. For the first time in months, 60 cap was actually cancelled, and the Ranking List actually has open spaces for names. It was so bad that I actually wanted to see if I could get top 10 while going afk for 20 minutes of the match to take a shower, came back, earned a mere 146 points, and I still made 8th place. What, so you can't one shot a mage now, it's the end of the world isn't it.

So yeah, here's just an overview of the multi-hit WSes that hit me:

Dark Knight Rampage - Average of 500-600 full buff.

Monk, massive gilbuyer, so quite kickass gear using Raging Fists - 403 max.

Ninja/Dark Knight, DD setup(Haubergeon, the works), using a Souleater + Blade: Jin - 389.

Warrior Rampage, Berserk - 400-500.

Paladin/Ninja Vorpal Blade - 300ish.

That's all I've been able to fight at the moment that can/will multi-hit. I'll ask a few Summoner's in my LS to do a Diorama Ghelsba to try out a few of those BPs. My guess is that they stayed the same. While SE is at time illogical, they're detailed. They'd specify that both Weapon Skills and Blood Pacts were nerfed.

The reason it got nerfed wasnt for direct PvP. Anyone who's played Brenner knows the Flammen-Brenner's arent that hard to defeat, if there was no nerf, we'd be able to 1 shot them even with raging fists. That's the only reason it got nerfed.

/nod I agree with you Lordwafik the Brenners arent hard to defeat if I were to WS one pre-nerf it would almost one shot the thing. therefore making brenner not too fun. I'll just have to get used to not one shotting people anymore tongue.gif

Carbonara makes me get 20%tp per hit with rajas now, With the soboro its a lean clean distructive solo-skillchaining machine. ^~^/

On the side note there has been alot of gripes over this and i know a few people that are planning on quitting now, but now your weaponskills are down to par with everyone else's. It's fair game now. For the best. If you dont agree then your no better than the RNGs complaining about the RNG nerf, as much as i'd like it back to the way it was i agree with it and keep moving forward.

No it didn't effect avatars that I can tell of in ballista, since all lv70 BPs can't SC I don't think SE put them under the list of being nerfed. Personally I can't tell the difference I still do 700+ Asuran Fists, then again "Spirit xxx" are considered weaponskills. So most likely they did, but you can't really tell.

the other night in uncapped brenner i saw a summoners(Xeres) hitting mid 500-600 pred claws wich is about the same as my asurans.......

eh if memory serves i swear i only punched the brenners for like 50 dmg wich is like half what i hit players for

I honestly don't see how this "balences" anything. Mages often enough have the upper hand, since they don't need TP to pump out high burst damage. Being able to hit very high damage with WS was a balencing factor- They can throw Thunder IV or Thunderaga III or Blizzard III out of their ass, while we have to build it up. In exchange, the melee WS can potentially one shot, or come close to one shotting (depending on the type of mage).

It certainly balances out melee-to-melee matches, where a mnk would hit both fists as hard as a drk's scythe swing, three times faster, and still bang out a higher asuran than the drk's guillotine, unless it was with souleater. Melee-to-mage has never been hard, depending on the job. Maybe mnks have problems with those little blm bastards, but not a drg. Run in, WS (whoops, there goes the blink and stoneskin and 30% of their health), then swing normally, saving both jumps for casts, and its bye bye mage. Whats so hard about that? Good mnks have it easier, just spamming asuran, then medding to spam another one soon after.

i ballista a lot in diorama uncapped, i didn't notice a change and the creator of this topic needs to think about what a summoner is and their flaws especially in ballista before complaining about predator claws (in reality, i do more damage with flaming crush a majority of the time)

bps are expensive, keeping the avatar out is expensive, and the timer to do it again takes a long time.. melees could get tp faster than our bp timer would come back, and damn we have pretty much one of the lowest (if not the lowest) defense of all jobs.. this is why i go with earth staff + cheviot cape + jelly ring + catiff socks.. works wonders against those who jump summoners due to their defense and avatar not being a threat after a bloodpact is used (or wasted due to shadows, range, etc.); purpose of mages who drain mp insanely such as black mages and summoners is to dish out as much damage before being completely an open target with low/no mp

back to topic, from extensive testing, if they did nerf the multihit bps it would be minute (the worse case scenario i noticed was that my accuracy was not as great anymore and i do sometimes less than i usually do more often)

I've had raging fists in 40 cap take like 60% of the brenner's health, lol. My strategy at that time was to TP up off a stray posten then go blow the crap out of a brenner.

It's really a shame now, tho, because mages with stoneskin + phalanx can practically out-melee a melee. Which doesn't seem too fair, since they are a hell of a lot more versatile, what with all their enfeebles and disables.

Ppfft All it means is that Melees who can use blink effectivly will be better than those who don't benefit as much from it.
