What is the best way to pop him? Me and some LS mates tried popping him for over 6 hours clearing Aerns in the 2 big rooms (near the 2 porters) in the upper level of the Garden but he wouldnt pop. Do you have to clear Aerns from the 4 Big rooms or can he be a lottery from any room?

He is a wild lottery of the Aerns. Pops *right* after an Aern Dies.
I mean, see it turn gray, there's Ix.
He can take 3 kills, to 3 days. Lottery is Lottery. Gotta get lucky.
There is no Best way.

Out of all sea NMs, he is the biggest joke. Have cleared all rooms plenty of times and manaburn in the 2 main room near the porters too for the past 3-4 days and no pop. Freaking ridiculous. SE better change this sometime soon...

Looking for some strategies for ppl who have solo'd / duo'd this mob. I'm trying to duo it with 2xblm. I know you do the zone/nuke trick, but I wanted to know where to zone, how to handle the wyverns, the whole 9. Suggestions and strategies from ppl woulc be appreciated, thank you.

Break party to avoid shared hate, one person uses Bio only, the other person nukes.
Zone through the purple ball things and completely ignore the wyverns.
When at low % and sure to one shot, reform party and ES nuke for the final blow.

No real need for a duo partner. If you're solo on BLM/NIN with Gaiters:
1) Try to pop him at one of the southern porters.
2) Pull him up north without DoT and zone at a porter.
3) Zone back, put up Reraise, and follow him past the first Ghrah to the border between the two Ghrah rooms.
4) If you're not at capped MP, Sleep the first Ghrah and Aspir it.
5) Drain the Ix'Aern and run back towards the porter.
6) If you run efficiently, you'll have no trouble landing Bio II on him at the first stairs without getting hit/sang-at. Run down and a little past the edge, that way you can start casting when he comes into range and it'll finish when he runs away from you around the edge.
7) Run to zone.
8) If he uses Depuration after you put Bio II on him, Bio II him again at the zone line.
9) Repeat until one of you dies of boredom. It can take ~1.5 to a million hours depending upon Depuration.
10) ES T4 the final nuke. Make sure you do it before he gets to the point where his Bio II normally wears off. Last thing you want is for him to wander out of range and Regen 10% before you can cast again.
Notes:
* ES Poison II is better than Drain for a pulling spell if you don't need HP. It does more damage generally and doesn't give TP. A nuke is best, but you have to time it pretty well or you'll be in range of Horde Lullaby.
* Depuration is your biggest enemy, followed closely by Horde Lullaby.
* Bio II should wear right around the border between the two Ghrah rooms every time if you're applying it right. Obviously you can't let it stay off for very long or he'll regen 10%/tick.
* Blink the end of your cast if you can and learn what % you can start running. The faster you are to run away, the lower your odds of getting hit with any song are.
This isn't a really challenging solo for career BLM, but if you aren't confident in your magely-skills you're probably just wasting your time. Even then, you can just hold him and wait for someone to come help you nuke him down as described above though. Keep in mind that you'll probably die to the Aerns themselves if you really don't know what you're doing and don't have a solid enfeebling set.

Hardly any people have gaiters, I like using them on Ix'mnk, Ix'drk etc , but it's complete bullshit to run Ix'drg through the entire zone to the elevator if you can just dot > zone at his spawn location safely forever without even trying.

Sure, but you kill a lot slower that way. My way gets you a guy to Aspir, lets you drain every time, and gives you two chances to apply DoT in case he did Depuration after the first one or ES Poison II is up. Your way you apply Bio and wait. Also, my way Aerns from the room don't link onto you soon enough to do anything, while your way they would

You're freaking zoning, who cares if something links or not.
If you just in the room you have to worry for the NM to run off too far and you can REST in the room while waiting for dot to wear and pop a SMALL nuke for the shorter casting time if you have to.
Also, "looking to duo with 2x BLM" hmmmmmmm
