Hey I am doing the mission called "Rescue Mission" from Sandy. I have found the guy in the caves in la theine and he says that all he needs is his sword. I have talked to ALL of the soldiers in the ravine about ten times each. I have also talked to the two soldiers that are almost out of the ravine. I have talked to every soldier in the area. NO ONE has the sword. I cant continue on getting my rank upgraded without doing this mission. I have looked at the directions on this site and many others and followed them to a T. I have also talked to high lvl LS members and they cant help either. Does anyone know if there is another soldier that MIGHT have the sword somewhere? Or what else may be going on?

The Rescure training is performed in the big valley in La Theine Plateau. When you talk to Vicorpasse, he will ask you to search for his missing soldier Ruillout. Ruillout is in Ordelles Caves in the back of the valley. He is Behind a rock in the water in the first open area. When you talk to him, he says he will be a laughed at if he lets you help him. He wants to fight his way out, but he lost his sword, and asks you to retrieve it for him. One of the other soldiers has the “Bronze sword”, and it is random as too which soldier possesses it. Talk with soldiers until one of them gives you the “Bronze sword.” Trade the sword to Ruillout so he can escape. Now go back and talk to Vicorpasse to receive the “Rescue Training Certificate”. Trade this to the gatehouse guard to complete the mission.

hi there the NPC carrying the sword dont have to be down near the cave, did you try going all the way back like u're heading to w.ranfuare?

are you saying that any soldier in the latheine area may have it?

Before you can get this mission, you need to have obtained some crystals to boost your standing. The guard sends you to La Theine Plateau to receive some rescue training. To get there go to the sw corner of West Ronfaure and zone into La Theine Plateau. Then follow the train south and talk to the soldiers you see there.

They tell you that a soldier named Ruillont is lost in Ordelle Caves and give you directions on how to get there. Zone into Ordelle and Ruillont should be just to the left. He tells you that he lost his sword. Go back to the soldiers and get him a new one. Trade it to Ruillont and return to San d'Oria for your new rank


Not a Sandorian so can't do much except quote guides. This one might not help as much but still, whoknows?

The thing is that i have done all that so i have no idea why i cant seem to locate the one soldier with the sword.

also you are calling the sword a "bronze sword" could i buy one at the AH and simply trade it to him?

I think its a key item, and you might be missing some soldiers in lathaine, hidden somewhere



btw, just found this:
There are only 3 people that will acknowledge that you found Ruillont (I believe) and they are Deaufrain (on switchback at ravine entrance), Equesobillot (at top of ravine entrance), an Galaihaurat (located in E-6 near a brick wall. On your map you'll see three trees in E-6, he is by the tree on the lower right... I got stuck having to travel all the way out to this guy to get the sword).

So, I believe the Bronze Sword travels between only these three NPC's, randomly, for each PC that does the mission.

contact a GM. if it isnt working, he'll reset the mission for you.

it happened to me when i was doign the windurstian one with the food offerings. after i turned in all the offerings he wouldn't say i had finished the mission. the GM reset it for me andi finished. what happened was i died while i turned in the 1st offering. so it glitched.

Yes, it is random. Noone is questioning that and it has been very well established, thanks.

By reading Roman's posts, it seemed to me he had talked to everyone except the soldier by the road.
If that is the case, then most likely this last NPC, at E-6 I believe, has it.

i was going to suggest that too. there's one over the ravine, to the north, and the one at e-6. they probably have the droids your looking for...

When I did this quest, the soldier that had the sword was the one just off the road and quite a walk from the canyon itself. He's still a part of that team and, unfortunately, you might have to go find and annoy him if no one else has the soldier's sword.

It's not a key item, by the way, but you can't cheat the mission, either. Or, at least, I don't think you can and see no reason to do so.

i don't know if you got it yet, but if you happen to have the ranger quest done.....you can sub ranger and use widescan to see the npc names if you missed any. you can use beastmaster widescan as well but it does not have as large of a range. Good luck:)
