So I 5-manned Kurrea.

Started out as 1, myself, after my LS gave up (nubs tongue.gif) and an LS member fleed it back to zone because I said I'd hold it (having no idea how hard this thing was supposed to be). He lost aggro on zone and I slowed it (only slow landed, paralyze and blind wouldn't touch it). Held it by running it around for about 5 minutes before getting in PT with an LS WHM and THF (the same thf) and had them DOT it. Eventually arouynd 80-90%ish when it didn't go back to the shed at all, we invited an LS DRG. Slowly damaged it until about 30% when we added a BRD. That made things a lot easier for me to keep shadows up while kiting. :x Eventually killed it, DRG won trousers.

So yeah.. 5-manned Kurrea. l33t.

I've heard of Kurrea not going back to the shed too after zoning/CFH+logout/etc. Honestly if you can trigger that, it can't be that hard to kill with 5 people. The question is what exactly triggers it...

I was wondering that myself, perhaps the key is to start out with 1 person solo spawning it, and then slowly adding 1 person at a time. ""maybe"" currea goes back to its bowl for every member in an alliance in a given ammount of time... so starting at 1 and adding 1 member every minute or two might be the trick ; )

wow... I'd be very interested to hear the trick... The only time I tried him he would go back to his soup every 30 seconds and eventually was oneshotting everybody in sight even through stoneskin. That was with a full alliance on it trying to zerg it. We got it down to about 50% pretty quick but by then he was pretty much buffed to hell and pwning everybody he touched...

I'm wondering, if were u and the thf in the same party? maybe if someone spawns it, and someone out of alliance claims it, it won't go back to its shed... we need to figure out why it didn't go back

I think it was the second time I did this with an LS, people were calling for help on adds(we had a ton of people for whatever reason) and someone accidently called for help on Kurrea. Either people died or we had to temp log. ONce we got it back, he was still acting like normal.


What we did find out that works well, is to pop it and fight it at the shed. Just enough room to drink up every little bit. It's a really fast way to get it in "green eyes" mode. From there, we brought it back around the corner in the big open field with lots of too weak to build TP on and also gave time to recover/ect. Then, every time it comes back to your "camp" we designated 2 meele each time to setup a SC. I believe we used thunder. My wyvern actually got a 262 dmg lightning breath MB off this thing, so I'd say it's takes extra dmg to thunder or something. So, every time it comes back to camp, hit it with a SC and lots of MB's. It should go down quickly that way.

Kurrea will go back to his shed -NO MATTER WHAT-
hence: proving your post null


Seeing as how he frist came out my LS fought him for 4+ hours and he never once stopped going to eat
(we didnt have a strat or have the slighest what to do)

The Kurrea strat is really quiet easy..

Pull him here, he will run to you for about 30 seconds, during this time you have all your melee skillchain all all BLMs nuke, it will drop him down a good 5-10%, he will run back to his bowl which gives you time to rest / recover

Kurrea will eat foods that change how he is fought
(I dont remeber all of them off the top of my head, let me see..)

Magic ATT+
Magic DEF+
Defence+
ATT+
HP+25%
Debuff(he looses all effects)

Magic+ and ATT+ are really bad, they have the ability to one shot - two shot anyone, he busted out a 5.4k dmg tornado on our PLD with magic + and hits kaiser(but body) PLD for 800+ dmg with ATT+
Magic DEF+ = competly strong aginst any magic abilitys
the rest are rather easy to understand..

Sorry this post is really sloppy lol trying to multi task, the ability to 5 man him? I donno about that Kurrea is by no means a push over..

Ya, after he goes green eyes, that's where we pull him. The field to the left of the elipse has mobs to build TP on.

I haven't done the fight, but from what i'm reading it could be the fact that; When in an alliance ppl tend to jus dish out the dmg since they think 'zerg zerg!!'. Could be with slow dot Kurrea doesn't head back to his shed. Jus a thought. ohmy.gif

It's ok, our LS didn't believe it wasn't going back to the shed either, as seen in the video which is to come soon. :x

We tried popping another to see if we could break him again, and to no avail. No matter what we did, he'd go back to the shed.

[sea]I'm sorry to inform you, but Wizerd is not lieing.

If you want to see the video, please give me a good sight to upload it to. My FTP server has like 5 people on it right now and isn't very fast. Plus the video is 15 mins long and a little over 100mb big... so I'm limited for what file hosting site I can use. I completely forgot about my fraps and honestly didn't think it was going to work. That's why the video is from halfway point.

I was very much there, I'm the DRG he mentions who won the lot. Give me a sec to convert these .png screenshots to .jpg and upload them to my photobucket account.

While I'm doing that, since Wizerd was not there for the first two attempts, I will explain. Our linkshell had tried Kurrea the first time ontop of the shed. Our first time fighting, we had a couple deaths... then completely wiped to a super buffed AerogaIII. We decided to try the other strategy and pull it back to the tunnel. This time, a little better. Hardly any deaths and we were doing good... we got it down to 18% and were trying to recover as all our BLMs had just died. Then he healed twice putting him back up to 58% and our leader called a retreat. We had been working on him for about 30 mins and he was buffed to the max again. Everyone had zoned. The THF dropped party and ran back to Kurrea as he stood at the shed about to depop, ranged attacked it then Flee'd to the zone with it as Wizerd was on his way. Wizerd ran into Kurrea as it was on the way, deaggroed, going back to despawn. He claimed it and then kited it. Everything from there on has been explained.
