Went around Alexander last night doing my usual check on the ballista/brenner matches (neglecting my leveling duties harharhar) and guess what, No Ballista matches reserved, not even in the future, and likewise with Brenner =/ friend went earlier to a 60 cap and I think he said that he was the only one there *sigh*
Small update, big impact.

Ballista has really gone downhill, Brenner was never good, sheesh I hate Brenner.

I am at a ballista that normally gets 12-18 people, there are 5 here. SE royaly killed ballista, my penta went from 350 to 250. I dont see the point in using a ws, but people pretty much stoped playing ballista.

Seriously as a DRG I didn't do as much DMG with WS to start off with and now that they added this update all that's gonna happen is a surplus of Ust and Mages players. It's a bitch enough to get their damn blink off with sub SAM and it's even more of a bitch when your WS don't even take half HP off when all hits land.

I went to ballista so I could hit people with Hexa. Now they made Hexa suck.. and I never really had a problem as dying as a mage... it is not hard to pay attention and run away from MNK, nor to Flash them when they come. It's not like mages were defenseless... stun, bind, sleep... etc
I would usually play support, but it was still fun to pulll out club for some 1v1.

Meh, they need to fine tune it.
Certain melee's used to be able to one shot mages even with Stoneskin up, dealing like 1.1k damage. No need to nerf it as badly as they did, merely make it a percent rate. The higher damage your multi hit WS puts out, the more damage is reduced.
A Warrior used Berserk, and I was only able to hit him for 491 damage with Vorpal Blade. I used to hit WARs for at least 600 when they were hapless enough to not cancel Berserk after they WS.
You can't really blame SE though, Rampage, Guillotine, and Asuran Fists were pretty overpowered in the right hands. The real people to blame for the lack of participation are the whiny bastards who won't play anymore because they don't down someone without time to even react.

Well currently leveling RNG to 60 and already use SAM/RNG in 60caps so ill pray they dont gimp Sidewinder. currently on SAM/RNG my sidewinders range from 500-700 and when i hit 60 with RNG, comparing my gear and some really good RNG's on siren like Clivant and Sekisa my sidewinders with merits should hit 800-950 in 60cap

=/ Hmm its funny how ppl complain about mages, <,< I miss astral flow from before i could wipe a whole pt or alliance, now its so messed. THat was my 2hr u whiny melees, Im glad you guys got nerfed next up im gona go write SE wtf is rng or any long range wepon not getting penalized for changing ranged ammo. =P call me an ass but i dont like being slept then bombarded with a lot of stuff. :love love my terra staff cant wait to get more -damage gear then im so gona be harder to kills smn

Well ill make this short then.
1) When you are getting the lower damage, does the mage have blink and stoneskin up? If blink absorbs a couple hits, your damage is greatly reduced, on top of stoneskin. Yet you still deal good damage to them, and have killed 2 of their key defensive spells. Poke them and they will die.
2) Deh magey deals doo much damage! o_O Well, you know what, Deh melees take doo many hits!
Deh WHM heal too Good! Do you have somthing useful to say or not? Im seeing alot of bitching about bitching.
It accomplishes nothing.
3) Shall i mention all the Melees bitching about sleep and bind being nerfed? as well as overall elemental resists?
That has been implemented. Sleep and bind rarely works, and when they do, its for a unberibly useless duration.
But sleep arrows still work perfectly... HMMMMMMMMMMMMM... lets THINK there. Oh! and it doesnt take mp to use em! and you can keep launching them dealing damage and putting the target back to sleep! While you cant just cast sleep again to refresh it.
4) So You want to charge at a mage, shrugging off all of his best spells, and kill him in 1 shot without him having the slightest chance even with his buffs up? Well arnet you tough. Really proves how good you are. :plain
A slight dmg reduction was needed to give mages a chance to do somthing. However, the nerf may have been too great. It just needs to be fine tuned. But if you indeed want to 1 shot mages no matter what, then give them back sleep and bind. Or, "Fuck you melees bitching how you actually have to try in ordor to do somthing! Either dont play or QUIT THE GAME bacause ur not gonna find another job to level where u are a god!"
Seriously. Quit. Thats all it seems some people can do. The moment you have to put forward effort you quit ballista.
You can still one shot mages.
To all the non bitchy mages and melees out there, you are a dying breed. But keep at it!

PVP in FFXI has, is, and always will be a joke. I don't think anybody on kujata has said anything about the update, because nobody gives a shit about it.

Yep yep. FFXI is built around teamwork and PvE. When you take the same charecters and place them in PvP, balance goes all to hell. So it takes drastic measures to compensate.
You really dont see to many BRDs complaining about PvP do you?

I've notice the nerfe in multi Hit WSes, as a rdm I'm able to survive a full blow Guillitine without Souleater pushed into it, without stoneskin up. (Phalanx was up) It still took most of my HP away from me. And if I was a taru I most likley wouldent have survived it.
However as all the melee jobs complain about there loss of one shotters. I've notice somthing very good happening in Ballista: The mage jobs are starting to get deicent rank ratings.
Face it, before the multi-hit nerf, Ballista was a melee-only club game. Now that the nerf has been implmented, the field is more balanced. Those that have not participated afterwards were generally players that wanted to take advantage of a broken part of the game, and buff their egos up via this exploit.
Now that they have to WORK for their prestigue, they feel less inclined to do so. However, the Die-Hard Ballista fans in Midgardsormr are still there. Penty of times I see some old faces showing up to use their jobsi n the game, no matter which one it is.
Seeming not even a half hour ago I ate a SAM's 2hr and winded up dead very fast. I still dont think Melee have much to complain about. After all, my strongest nuke to them dosent even break 300 at lvl 60 cap, and they can interrupt those.
