Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows some details on this fame enhancing quest. I'm looking to get some of these avatars done this weekend and I need a quick fame pick-me-up for Bastok and Windurst.

I personally did over 450 repeats (1 moss per repeat) back when the stacks were still 6k in the AH and it gave me "max" fame in San d'Oria, Jeuno, and Bastok as well as high enough Rabao fame for the Garuda quest. I had done 0 uniques in San d'Oria and 5 uniques in Bastok at the time.

It does nothing for Windurst/Mhaura fame, however.

That's what I did... Boyada Moss when it was 6k/stack and Cornettes.

The sheep man in Selbina is a real blessing, but you have to know how to work him and where to get your supplies.

Being a San d'Orian, I waited for San d'Oria to be #1 in conquest rankings, then I went to the grocery store there and stocked up on La Theine Cabbages & Millioncorn - both of which are MUCH cheaper than 6k/stack.

The following is tested and proven:

La Theine Cabbages = San d'Orian fame
Millioncorn = Bastok fame

Best way to do it is to totally empty your gobby bag and load up on whichever of the type of food that you need, then pay a visit to the teleporter (assuming you've done the supply quest for Valk), run down to Selbina, and turn them all in, then teleport back to N. Sandy ... rinse, recycle, and repeat.

The point with the 6k per stack thing is that the return was 7.2k...they were making money.

you can still get a stack of moss for 7k on diabolos if you wait till the weekend. seems people farm a lot during the week. fri/sat comes around and the prices of everything is thru the floor. mon/tue prices jump back up because everyone is bought out.

while it may appear somewhat stupid to sell a stack of moss for less than 7.2k, don´t forget that compared to other cities, selbina is the end of the world... if you want to go there, count in another 200-800gil for a chocobo, depending on if you start at a town or a crag, or take a long walk. if you farm gobbue a lot (which should be outlawed as gobbue are easily the cutest thing ingame), and already have max fame, selling them fast at a slightly lower price is definitely an option.
