mythology, Quetzalcoatl was considered wind element. So they could of, in theory, used him. Oh well, Garuda is
pretty cool too, and I guess they wanted something that they could make into a female.
As for Odin, he is
supposed to get eaten by Fenrir during Ragnarok. Maybe they'll have some sort of conflict in FFXI.
