I
usually pronounce some of these a little differently, especially the ones like look like they were French-
derived...
Beadeaux(Be-doe)
Eldieme Necropolis(El-deem Ne-crop-uh-lis)
Misareaux Coast (Miz-a-roo
Coast)
and these I just promounce differently, I dunno what the developers consider the proper
pronunciation.
Fei'Yin(Fay-yin)
Mhaura(Muh-ha-rah) <-- I don't know why I procounce it this
way
Pso'Xja(So-zha)
My LS got into a "discussion" a while ago about the proper pronunciation of
"Dia" was.
Most people believe it's (dee-ah) while some think it's (die-uh). I think it's (dee-ah) as in
the Spanish word for "day"
anyway, neat post.

I've always wondered how to pronounced Ochiudo's Kote.
O-chew-do's Ko-tay
O-chee-ew-do's Ko-
tuh
O-chew-do's Ko-tuh <-- this is the one I've always gone with
O-chee-ew-do's Ko-tay
So
many options ><

The way you pronounced some of the
french sounding words is different then how I usually pronounced those words but your way seems to be correct. As
for Dia Im gonna go with die-uh seeing as this game wasn't made by spanish people I think (feel free to mention
anyone who helped develop it whose spanish.)

Pso'Xja is pronounced So-Ja, as in Soldier.
Okote -> 'O-Chi-Dou Coat' for me!
As for Dia, Dee-ah
(Spanish word for Day) makes sense, day as in Light. Light element.

Sometimes japanese players will type the names in kana, and being a very phonetic language it's usually a
reliable way to get the proper pronunciation. Like Pso'Xja they often type as "so-ja." I don't know if these
are official pronunciations, but may as well all be on the same page.

I always
hear a lot of Americans struggle with the French-ish areas that have vowels like "eaux" and "ei" in them. Lands
like Misereaux Coast are correctly pronounced as "Mee-ser-oh Coast" and Beaucedine Glacier is meant to be
pronounced as "Boh-seh-deen Glacier.
La Theine is also a tough one for many, since I always hear La-theen on
voice chat. The "ei" does not exist in English and so cannot be pronouced by most Americans. It is pronounced like
the "e" as in "egg" but then sounding a bit longer.
Finally vowels like the "u" in Ru Lude, and "eu" from
Al'Taieu are simply impossible to explain correctly to English speakers who are unfamiliar with European
languages as there exist no English words that use them.

I always pronounced that as "Byoo-duh-seen Glay-sure" even tho i know its horribly wrong XD
I just
pronounce things at a glance, which im sure most people do. Even when i know the right pronunciation, the majority
of the time ill just pronaounce it my way XD

Some
things I always pronouced wrong was the town of Jeuno
In my mind it was always Way-no, it wasnt until i
watched the intro again and heard the guy say Jew-no
I tend to pronouce things just based on first
inclinations and without acually looking at the way things are spelled. As the poster said above you have to have
a basic knowledge of the working of a handful of many european languages to pronouce not just areas in this game
but also many of the mobs.
Some of the ones id love to hear are
Temple of Uggalepih, I always say
Ug-a-La-Pih
Some mobs, my friend calls Guivre Gi - ver i call him - Gwa-vier (best i can do
phonetically...Linguistics was never a strong point of mine )
Xolotl - Zo-tle
Thats all I can think
of off the time of my head. Im sure itll get worst with Aht URgan coming soon.

This is kinda fun^^ Alot of these arent the logical way to pronounce them but I say them like this anyways since
it seems more natural.
Ru'Aun Gardens.
I dont know why but I always call it Roo- Ann Gardens^^;
Seiryu
I say 'Sare yuu' like the first part of Sara and a short 'you'
Byakko
Bi-yak-
ko
Al'Taieu
Al Tay yuu
Beadeaux
Its probably close to Bay- doh since it looks french derived,
but that doesnt stop me from calling it Bah-doh all the time^^;
Diorama Abdhaljs-Ghelsba
Die-oh-Rama-
Ab-dallis-Ghel-sel-ba
Eldieme Necropolis
(Elle - 'D' - 'M' - Ne'crop'oliss)
Fei'Yin
(Faye- yin)
Mhaura
More - ah
Misareaux Coast
(Miz-a-row Coast)
Promyvion(Prom-miv-ee-
on)
Pso'Xja
(So-jaw)
Tahrongi Canyon
(Tah-wrong-gi Canyon )
Temple of Uggalepih
(Temple of ooo-ga-le-pee)
Xarcabard
(Zar-ca-bard)
it seems more natural.

I
like the ones that I pronounced wrong for a year because I either read it wrong or for some other reason. like I
thought Rolanberry was Ronaldberry, I thought Junger was Jugner, Who knows what I called Sarutabaruta before I
actualy read it, same with Ronfarue and Gustaberg. I think I called it Gerstaberg or somthing. I still pronounce
Lathien (La-thy-in) Even though in windurst you are told the pronounciation is La-thain (rhymes with rain)
Then there is Samourgae Champlain. The way I spelt it is how I pronounce it, that one is the worst for
me.
