I absolutely can't understand where the problem is. The USA has laws. These laws did not spontaneously exist. Lawmakers had to sit, in a room, and discuss this, and come up with the LAWS that govern immigration. At some point they decided that simply entering the country unannounced and getting work was.. illegal. This law may not have always existed. But it exists now. Anyone who breaks this law should be reprimanded. If people didn't believe in this law, why did they approve it? Why do we have it?
You can't just give amnesty or citizenship to people who skipped the legal process and entered this country illegally.

Exactly, you knew it was illegal when you walked 500 mil across a scorching desert under the guise of nightfall, why all of the shock that this is illegal? Im all for anyone and everyone coming and working here, I mean Mexico is a economic shithole (i.e. Fairy AH. I kid, I kid) so I dont fault them one bit, but atleast do it legally geeez. Sneaking in is shady enough, but getting pissed when someone asks you to get legal is complete and utter bullshit IMO.
Mythx :
Illegal Immigrants have no rights.
This is stupid that they are protesting.
All the govt. wants is for them to work here LEGALLY. We aren't saying that Juan can't work here, we're just saying Juan has to be legal to work here.
And I think they're protesting a WALL to keep the ILLEGAL Immigrants out. GTFO Illegal immigrants.
It's not true that they are taking jobs that people don't want. The will ALWAYS be somebody who needs to work and support themselves. If you are down on your luck, you need to feed yourself, you will work that shit job.

The topics sorta misleading, immigrants can have rights, as long as they're legal. >_>
I don't mind a few thousand Mexicans hopping over the border and running into the U.S., just as long as the go through the LEGAL process, I honestly don't get what the controversy over all this.
You either break the law, or you follow it. What is that now? You broke the law?! Well get ready to face the consequences of it. You reap what you sow. End of story.

It's a double edged sword. We all want illegals out because they are "taking our jobs" but we also want our cheap prices. As much as it sucks, we can't have our cake and eat it. If we want more jobs for "real" Americans, we'll need to start paying "real" prices. Cheap, illegal labor means cheap, yet legal
, prices.
Frankly that's all I really know about the subject. I guess people want the illegals OUT, but if they're going to stay, I don't see the point of making them legal. Sure, they pay taxes, but they'd also be eligible for medicare, social security, etc (since the majority would live under the poverty line) and would end up sucking more money out that they would put in.
Personally, I'm happy we have people willing to risk deportation, as menial as that is (that's all that happens if you're caught atm, right?), in order to be illegal workers. Illegal workers are great for the American consumer.

The controversy is that they AREN'T legal. We have (well) over 10 Million Illegal Immigrants in our country, taking and not paying taxes. The main problem lies in their numbers. The Govt. is taking steps to make sure that they are legal in this country. I have no problem with them coming here either, as long as they are legal and pay taxes like the rest of the working citizens.

When immigration comes up I always hear the same sets of arguments.
"Why do we allow Canadians to come across the border freely?"
"Why is Canada immigration a non-issue when Mexico and Cuba are?"
"Shouldn't immigration be standardized regardless of original nationality?"
Why Canada is not part of the immigration issue. Contrary to what most want to believe it has nothing to do with the fact that most Canadians are white. It does have a lot more to do with the fact that Canada isn't dirt poor. Canada has many of the same imports/exports as the United States. Which only makes sense that the US and Canada compliment each other. It doesn't just stop at economics. Canada and the US compliment each other on many different mediums as well.
With that successful government that Canada has, comes many other factors, the most obvious, Canadians don't want to leave Canada. Much like Americans don't want to leave America. Naturally I am speaking in a very general way. If this were not fact, then you would see reports of a Canadian-American/American-Canadian immigration problems.
With Mexico, the government is unsuccessful, economy is poor, health care is poor, education is poor, only a small few get to enjoy the things the average Joe in the US or Canada take advantage of on a day to day basis. Herein lies the difference, Mexicans want to leave Mexico. There is a problem though. There is no money in allowing Mexicans to come into the US. The poor conditions of border towns in the US are a testament to this.
America never was, and was never intended to be the worlds economic hospital. It is not a dumping ground for other countries to fix their economic problem. It is not about race, it's about money. Simply put, Mexico doesn't bring anything to the table, and America is supposed to just feed them? In the end tax payers are the ones who cover the bill while our own education system is dwindling, among other things.
While this immigration goes near unchecked, as the current action against illegal immigration is no where near where it should be, we provide welfare at the same time. So then it goes from poor, uneducated or sub-par educated, non-English speaking immigrants not wanting to work as old' Uncle Sam is willing to pay out welfare. For as much as I love my job, I would still rather sit at home and enjoy my family. Who wouldn't? I completely sympathize. Personally I believe welfare should be liquidated and rebuilt to aid only the disabled, full time students, and the elderly. Everyone else, get off your ass and make a buck.
Unless, the illegal immigration system changes dramatically, or other government programs change it will only get worse. Yes it should be hard to become a citizen of the United States. There is talk of a federal law being proposed that would change the crime of hiring an illegal immigrant from a misdemeanor to a felony, which would definitely discourage most people not to employ them. Another inherent problem is that if you give birth to a child in the US you automatically have a nice anchor to stay in the US. This has to change.

i have no problems with immigrants comming over here legally like alot of people say but its the 11million people that are here illegally that urks me and some of them have fake social securities and leech of our system of aid blocking aid that should be going to legal aliens or citizens. All those protesters dont know what the hell they are protesting over or probably have someone the know or relative that are illegally here. I say send them back like they want to and impose stricter penalties on those who aid them. They want to do that. They are trying to post fines for companies that higher illegal workers.
Canada isnt that much of an issue for illegal people. Yeah sure they still come over here illegally but not nearly as often as the ones south of the border do.
they can always do what they did in starship trooper. If you want to be a citizen you have to do a tour of duty in the military and after you do that you get all the benefits of being a citizen like welfare, medicare and voting but if you dont do a tour then you get nothing!

I'm a Mexican that lost a job due to my job being outsourced to Mexico. Oh the Irony!
People get pissed when business outsource jobs to Mexico, and people get pissed when they come here for jobs.
Really, is everyone upset at the fact that they are here illegally, or that they are getting jobs that nobody wants.
The government should give tax breaks to companies for using prisoner labor, thus limiting the jobs for immigrants.
But that would not stop companies from outsourcing jobs to other countries.
