I'm

sorry to make a whole thread for this, but I was wondering if anyone had experience in this area.

I know

that if I register the new expansion on my US pc version of the game, I will be able to play it on the EU version

on the xbox.

I was just wondering, if I were to buy the EU version of the PC expansion and register is on

my US account, will that work, or do I need to import the US version of the expansion to register it?

If i

understand correctly, you have the US version of FFXI on your pc and want to buy the EU version of ToAU and

register it on your US acct?

No you can't do that, if you used the US version of FFXI to setup your acct

then you will need to use the US version of ToAU to register for that expansion, the serial codes are not platform

specific, but they are region specific.

Thanks

for the responce Jhes, it's a pain that I have to import again, but I guess it's best for me not to buy the EU

version and find it doesn't work @__@

are you sure about playing a US account on a PAL xbox 360 game? Some players told me this wouldn't work.

Yes it

should work. There is however a couple of awkward things about doing this.

When you come to register a new

expansion id, you'll have to do it from your US version account before you can use it on the 360.

I could

log into my playonline account on the 360 anyway... so at least I know for sure that I could do at least that tongue.gif

(if you want to hold off and wait to see if it works before you buy it, I'm most likely going to get it around

april 20th, so I could always PM you to let you know).

Yeah, I play

on a NTSC (imported) PS2 with a account originally made on a imported copy of the PC version but now wanting to

move to a PAL 360 copy so I know how confusing it all is lol. biggrin.gif

Basically my plan of attack has to be -

import PC copy of expansion, load it into my PC version and use code to register it to my account, take the

account and enter the details into the 360 version and bingo. Hopefully they haven't done anything stupid that

could ruin this plan.

I'm actually getting NTSC copies of the PC and the PS2 version (need a code for my

brothers account anyway so figure might as well get the PS2 version to add to the collection) along with picking

up locally a EU PC one for the GF's account and a PAL Xbox 360 copy.

God SE have got me hooked big time

eh? :|

Valtine

this sounds great, if I can't play on the 360 with my 3 year old account i'm definitely gonna continue on

PC.

Plan was somewhat like Jnz, get NTSC import for PC and PAL xbox game.

Playing on widescreen TV

with dvd surround system on my couch is definitely appealing compared to my computer setup smile.gif
