Ok i been mining all this time havent really tried lumberjacking yet just wondering if its as profitable as mining. I make about 10-30k a trip mining depending on how lucky i get (a trip usually takes an hr). Can you make this kind of profit off of lumberjacking?

Logs & Lumber don't really sell quickly, the way ores do, and luck is a factor.
But if you're interested in raising carpentry, give it a try. You'll get plenty of scrub wood to start leveling with, even if your ROI isn't as great.

Everytime I hear people in my LS say they lumberjack for gil, that song comes to mind.. DAMN YOU MONTY PYTHON! lol ^^

Elms logs sell FAST. I can go and log come back and put my Elm Logs and other Lumber on AH. Go back and log comeback and most stuff usually sells by then.

Another factor to consider: How many people log? not many so you get many logging points

everytime i go to Yug. Grotta i see atleast 4 people logging...so i assume many people are lumberjacks...I myself prefer Mining...I won't lie I make reeeeeal good money. Some of it's luck some of it's skill

I see maybe one person logging every now and then so its not real popular on my server
Edit: ack i meant logging >_> mining is hella popular on asura that its not worth it unless you wait till jp leveling hours

I made 35k in 1 hour mining today.
I could have made the same amount logging, but the fact you need wind crystlas to make the lumber changes it a bit.

But see if you have high Woodworking you can HQ reliably. You can get up to 4 lumber from 1 synth. And if i really want to get to a spot i can cause now i got flee.
