Since Dyire hasn't updated yet, let's make this the home of the Orphic Egg and compile all the information we can on it here. I'll list how to get it, and we need people to try and find out a way to activate it's latent effect.

How to obtain:

Spell out the first part of the day.
Example: [L][I][G][H][T]
Reward: Orphic Egg

Latent Effect Activation

All that is needed to activate the latent effect of the egg is to have a bard song casted on you, it can be done by you or be given to you via party or other player.

Imperial and Tsra's Eggs aren't an event item, they're a high level 100 Goldsmithing item lol, Tsar is the HQ of an Imperial, unless you just want an egg collection ^^;

I actually got this egg earlier and I can confirm that the latent effect is activated by having a BRD song cast on you while wearing it. Exactly like the Melody Earrings.

I changed my job to my lvl 1 BRD to check my theory. No equipment was worn other than my Sandy Aketon and the Orphic Egg. Noted my ATK at 15. Sang the one song I knew (Minne) and my ATK went from 15 to 16 via the +1 atk on the Orphic Egg.

I just tested this out too, any song casted on you will give you the latent ability, I tried it with BRD as my main and BRD as my sub and saw my Attack raise by 1 without anything but the egg equiped.

I tried trading the moogle "D A R K" for darksday. I won't get an egg. Am I supposed to do the 3 egg thing first?

Well thats retarded then. Why give an item a latent effect if it doesnt say "Latent: Effect" for the effect...? I see it for the acc/att/eva, but not for the singing skill.

I'm pretty sure you do have to do the "Initial 3" thing to initiate the Easter event, even if you've done it in previous years. After doing N Y A, I traded E A R T H while it was Earthsday and I got my Orphic Egg.

In order to get ur eggs u have to do all the parts to it. Orphic can be get I think after the 2nd trade. Unsure. This is how I did my eggs.

Initial 3 -
My name is Bonkerskitty, so I had to get B-O-N. And trade it to the moogle.
Reward -
I got 2 Chocobo Tickets


Initial Straight 8 -
The first 8 laters after the first letter of ur name according to the alphabet. B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I
Reward -
I got my Fortune Egg


7 of a Kind -
7 Letters all the same.
Reward -
I got the Happy Egg.

Orphic Egg -
Trade the moogle the first 5 letters of the current day. IE. I did mine on Earthsday, so I traded the moogle E-A-R-T-H.


Now for the Regional eggs that are furniture, I'm unsure on the names of all of them, I just got the Wing Egg (San d'Oria) You have to trade the moogle the first 5 letters of a Region. If the depending on who controlls the Region, depends on which egg furniture u'll recieve. IE. I did Li'Telor, It was controlled by San d'Oria at the time, so I traded the moogle, L-I-T-E-L.




Some easy tips.
When U talk to the moogle, U can recieve a random letter'd egg each Vana'diel day. You can Also trade the moogle once each day to recieve and additional egg. You trade him either a soft boiled egg, hard boiled egg, color'd egg, or party egg. Doesn't matter which kind, and you can only trade one kind per day.

Now, If you have specific eggs you need. Its hell of a lot easier to get them by inviting party members to ur party who's name begins with the letter you need. When u speak to the moogle he will give u the option to take an egg that starts with the letter of the people in ur party or u can say no, and he will give u another random letter'd egg.

IE. If you had Bonkerskitty, Stormshadow, Jitsurou and Bunniebuffer in your party, the moogle will give u the option to pick and egg that that is either letter B, S or J. It will not give you the option to pick the egg that is ur first letter in your name.

ALWAYS THE MOOGLE WILL ONLY GIVE U ONE EGG PER DAY FOR TALKIN TO HIM, AND ONE EGG PER DAY FOR TRADING HIM A PARTY EGG, COLORED EGG, SOFT-BOILED EGG, OR HARD-BOILED EGG.

u can also trade 1 stack of bird or lizard eggs for an extra egg from a moogle.

Ok I'm trading the moogle W-I-N-D-S and it's not working, I've tried W-I-N-D and also the S in different boxes on the bottom, but nothin doin. I did the initial 3, how come it's not working?
