Dumb,

perhaps, but thats one of the reasons its one of the harder languages to learn. Atleast thats what I hear from

all my spanish speaking friends. Spanish has rules you follow and so does English but we break every single

one.

care to disagree. Japanese (katakana, hiragan, romanji) is far easier. However, I would not call english dumb. It

is an international language.

english is harder to learn than most other languages, it is the international buisness language, and has almost a

million (as last I heard) words (compiled from different dialects and fusing with other languages like spanglish

and what-have-you)

Are you just venting because of doing poorly in english class? Some parts of the

english language are dumb, but other languages have far worse, such as german haveing 3 words for "the" and

multiple forms of those depending on what part of the sentence its in.

English is

not the easiest language. It's easy for us because we speak it, but think about it. We have some dumbass rules

that are hard to grasp.
"Okay, to make something past-tense, put a D at the end... Except for when there was a

vowel before the final consonant. Then you have to double that consonant, and put an E then a D. And for some

words, there is no way to logically figure out how to put it into past-tense.
ie: swim, buy, ring, run, shoot,

think etc."
