This is the box art for the complete FFXI

package (consist all games). Huge different compared with the US/EU complete FFXI package box art release, which

is white/silver color with a big "XI" sign. Hopefully they'll change it .

That last pic, of the 360 art, is the big

"XI" you were talking about. It may or may not change, after all this is the first release of FFXI for the

360.


EDIT: Noticed you were talking about the three-expansion thing that JPs apparently get... Hm. I'm

not sure about these coming out for the PS2/PC in North America, at least for the time being. I still say the big

"XI" is more because of this being the 360's initial foray into FFXI... but that wouldn't really explain why the

Japanese full-version box isn't like that...

Maybe it's because they percieve Americans as liking "big

numbers". ...lol, I made a funny. >_>;;

There's

always been a drastic difference between NA and JP covers. Honestly, I'm suprised we got the colourful one and

not some white background with "Treasure of Aht Urghan" Slapped on the front with a little sketch of Amano's

artwork. I think SE believes that NA need to grasp the attention of the game by making the box art stand out so

much, even the title is bigger on ours.

I know

the international covers usually pale in comparision to the Japanese ones, but I just want to say that the North

American Xbox 360 box art officially sucks all ass. I mean, even the EU Xbox version got the basic FFXI logo.



I mean, WTF is that?? The only logical explanation is they forgot to turn the NA Xbox art in, the printer

called, said, "We never got your art, we need something in three minutes," and SE just faxed the roman numerals to

them. Seriously, that has to be the worst cover art for a video game I've ever seen.

Maybe I'm just

bitter because I'm actually going to have to have that cover in my house since I'm changing from PS2 to the 360

version.

"English" version looks cool, I like the Japanese box art more. Then again, I'm more into darker themes.

box with a "12" instead of a "T" and a bottom white stripe looks like a european version.

I still won't

trust anything till I see official annoucement of the expansion pack aviable on the European PoL site.

remember that CoP expansion release and UE FFXI release happened at the same time and that it was clearly said UE

and NA version couldn't work together.

So bad we don't have the beautiful japanese box cover.

Yeah... Square Enix loves to find way to screw with european people, like 6 month delay with EACH FF... an FFXI

version that NO DIFFERENT at all from the NA version and now this....

Well,

since all the other box art is on here, to make this page complete, here is the EU box art:

The PC box is the same, but the Xbox is getting the

generic FFXI logo (which is still better than a freaking "XI"). >.>

The contents

of the UE package was still different from the Us version since my POL version supports english, french and german

( menus,contracts and PoL agreement in french ... YaY !! ).
But yeah, 2 years to translate the PoL tool was

maybe a bit long

I doubt it would have been great to translate the game since the game is based on

communication ( and so on english ... I doubt someone that doesn't speak english could enjoy the game)

EU 360 is

getting the box art NA had for our first PC launch.

Ye, but the JP box art does have a more serious tone..

Compared to our wild and wacky cover art... I think I'm going to have to order this one, can't have anyone

seeing me pick this up from the store.

Well

actually, Japan is getting both art covers for their box art. The ones in the first post is for the all-

in-one pack that includes ToAU (yes, they're releasing it there at the same time as the expansion). The

expansion only has the more colourful but still detailed art.

So for those keeping score, the break down

is:

JP expansion only: cheerful full cover art (Win, PS2)
JP all-in-one pack: "bleak" full cover art

(Win, PS2, Xbox)

NA expansion only: cheerful full cover art (Win, PS2)
NA all-in-one pack: ugly ass "XI"

(Xbox only)

EU expansion only: cheerful full cover art (Win only)
EU all-in-one pack: old FFXI logo art

Seriously... who gives a fuck about a bunch of morons that speak french or german.. I speak

portuguese and ITalian... and none of those languages are covered... and seriously... everyone in FFXI should

speak english... (JP ppl aside... cause the game is JP after all )

Having to pay 6 dollars more because of
