For those of you who remember Aznmoogle....April 17th will be the 1 year anniversary of his death. I thought it would be nice if those of us who knew him took the time to post something and share some thoughts or memories about our lil tubby Taru buddy, Moogle.
I can honestly say in the past year I have often found myself thinking about Moogle and missing him. For those of you who did not know Aznmoogle, he was one of the funniest and sweetest guys I have ever met. He loved life and loved making people laugh. He had this amazing ability of making fun of you and instead of making you mad, making you laugh at yourself with him. Often he was the target of his own jokes, making fun of himself and making others laugh and smile. No matter what you did in game, if you did it with Aznmoogle you can be sure it was memorable. Aznmoogle was just one of those people who if you ever met him, you were sure never to forget him because he was just that damn fun and loveable. I just wanted to take the time to remember him, because I miss him dearly and will never forget him. Above all, Moogle was an amazing friend who went out of his way for his friends and hated to see anyone upset or depressed or not having fun. I <3 ya Moogle and miss you always! May your memory live on in all of us that knew you.
I would also like to take a moment to Thank Moogle's brother Imagin for keeping a part of Moogle alive for all of us who knew him by bringing Aznmoogle into game occasionally. You cannot begin to know what it means to many of us to run thru game and see Aznmoogle standing there. Imagin, I have no doubt Moogle has popped you upside the back of the head a few times for the deaths you've caused him in game,(much as I'm sure he did for the ones you were responsible for when he was alive) but I also have no doubt he is very proud of you for the accomplishments you have made on his character and for keeping his memory alive by continuing to bring his character into game. I know in my heart that this is what Moogle would have wanted.
Please know that my heart goes out to you and your family as you struggle through this anniversary of your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Aznmoogle remembered...

I never really had the opportunity to meet him, as I joined DR shortly before his death. He really seemed like an awesome guy. My suspicions are that Imagin uses moogle from time to time for selfish reasons (i.e. not losing exp on his 75DRG), unfortunately. Oh, and hi Fallen, how goes BLM?

First off Moogle was hardly ever in DR, he was in Sakura. He had a pearl for DR but he would just pop in to pick on Imagin and a few of us and leave.
Trust me you have no idea the relationship Moogle and Imagin had. Imagin would never do such a thing, he's advanced that character a little and Moogle would be honored in his brother keeping his memory alive by playing his character. He would have wanted Imagin to have Aznmoogle.
Blm... up to lvl 35 ... 2.5k from 36... I think I'll keep lvling it even after I get it to 37. I'm enjoying the break from whm. It's fun to nuke stuff. No worries though, I am still and will always be a whm at heart. Besides it's my forte'
<3 Aznmoogle....RIP my dear friend.

I did notice Imagin's trying to get the full set of BLM AF2, which I thought was a rather noble cause ^^
Jen's got WHM to 36 and is enjoying teleporting people for gil, lol. She wants to eventually get WHM AF, since it's snazzy and stuff.

Anyone who was in Sakura would know that Moogle was the life of the party, he made boring task like hunting for coffer keys acturally fun!. I was very sad when I heard the bad news, still am now. I still remember everyone used to say "hey moogle, your tarutaru looks tall, did you choose the tall option" hehe, he used to get so fed up and say "NO I DIDNT!!!". Ahh.... good times

I don't really care to get into too much detail about this, so please understand if I make this brief. For who he was, read above or ask anyone who knew him, mainly the members of his linkshell Sakura. Moogle was just one of the funniest people to be around and a great ffxi player. no matter what mood you were in you couldn't help but laugh when he was around and he made everything a lot of fun.
For how he died, Moogle had a rare disease and it's one of those diseases where it leads to all different kinds of complications and those complications are what kills you. It's my understanding that this was the cause with Moogle. I hope this is a good enough explanation. I don't like to remember this aspect of his death. I just want to remember who he was and celebrate his life and the memories we share of him. I'm sorry for those of you who never got the chance to know Aznmoogle. Even the memories and descriptions of him fail in comparison to the person he was. In the simplest of terms, Moogle was just an amazing person who touched a lot of people. Anyone who knew him cannot help but be saddened by his loss and touched by the memory of him.
I hope this helps. It's the best I can do to answer any questions.

They are 'both' in Nerfed, and Azn just got AF2 feet for blm on our last Dynamis Jeuno run.
I would say Imagin uses Azn for any reaons but selfishness.

Call it heart failure, poor moogle.
Anyhow, azn was the greatest, I stop and think about the past, Me balt, tri, ozn, lizzle, Tz, feyda, ashton, HC, Godson, Bani, lyther, Deci, Gigi, tons more.... my god so many good friends. Some satisfaction is taken most of them are doing well, in life and haveing fun with this game, but just thinking about moogle breaks my heart. As far as the selfishness comment about Imagin, you my friend are a fucking looser to toss the death of someone's brother up like he somehow gained from it. What's it to you anyhow?
Sakura was pimp cause of people like Aznmoogle. I miss him dearly.

alright, kinda pissed at the moment, cuz KI ate my initial post... was kinda long..
Aeth, your damn comment was/is pretty damn rude. You don't have any insight to my reasons behind me playing as Moogle. It's both ill timed and not very tactful to say the least. It's a rememberence page of all things...
Kodo, didn't know you left. Glad to see you. You and the rest of Sakura were and alwayz will be family to Moogle and I. Sakura, I love you guys so much. Thanks for the kind words about Moogle. They brought a smile to my parents face at the funeral. They had no idea of the spectrum that Moogle had on so many people's lives. I'm glad seeing Moogle is therapeutic for you as well as it is for me. I miss him every day and it's been a hard year. Not just for me, but my family as well.
Just to update on how we're doing.. It's been doubly hard.. little less than 6 months after Moogle passed, my dad died of lung cancer. In some ways, I believe my dad no longer had the will to live after Matt (aka Moogle) died. My mom hasn't gotten over both deaths either. She has yet to go back to work and I believe she's still feeling massive guilt in some way over Matt's death. He passed away on April the 17th around 2-3 am. He died of heart failure which was a complication as a result of a blood disease he was born with. My mother's guilt comes from not having been at my brother's side through the entirety of that nightmare. The 16th is my youngest brother's birthday. She left Matt, in stable condition, to join us in celebrating my brother's birthday. I don't belive my mom has forgiven herself for not being there for every moment. And I hope that my youngest brother doesn't start to believe in any way that Moogle's death and his birthday were nothing more than a coincidence. Alot of the kid's schooling was shot to hell and some had to start a fresh slate for that semester. Matt shared a special closeness with the second youngest brother, my sister and I. We all were born with the same blood disease. Only we knew what pains and thoughts we suffered through. It was quite a blow to us. It's not something I know I'll recover from for a long while...
Seeing people with such nice comments about him helps. Thank you Fallen for setting this up. It's quite a contrast to the mood I was in when the anniversary passed. Thank you to everyone who remembers him. It keeps him alive. He was special. I don't think any of us can deny that.

fallen i came to the boards just to check who was still around. and i see this post. i too often miss moogle and i'm not even playing the game anymore. he was a great friend always just wanting to have fun and help out others. i was lucky enough to have known him pretty much since we first started playing. and some of my fondest memories of the game were with him. moogle and others like him are what makes me miss this game. and even come back here to check who's still around 6 months after my last login.
moogle you'll always be missed.
