HAcoreRD :
Oh boy. I'll need a marco for "/Blockaid on" now.
Oh I like NM rape. And yes, that
"MPK" issue is the end of PowerLeveling. Dunes just got serious.
Example:
PowerLeveler casts Cure 3
*Monster faces Powerleveler*
Monster becomes purple to party, hate is now on him, if party wants back they
gotta get hate back by:
*curing
*Boost spamming
*Songs/Spells on their team
Oh, ffs, does
anyone bother to read anymore?
Now, look closely children...

Now, in the first image and in
image 1, notice the color above the mob. It's orange. Normally, I'd say that means somebody called for help, but
here it means the mob is unclaimed. It's aggro, or link, or something that an AoE grabbed. It's NOT
CLAIMED.
The blue guy is probably fighting something else. Either that or standing there blocking hits from
an attacking mob without claiming it, whichever.
The red guy is going to attempt to claim the mob to get it
away from the blue guy. Mr. Red is going to provoke, flash, arrow up the butt, whatever.
In Image 1, he
shot an arrow up the mob's butt. The mob couldn't care less. Whatever Red guy did, he didn't generate more hate
than whatever the Blue guy did to get hate in the first place. So, the mob is still unclaimed and still attacking
the Blue guy.
In Image 2, Red guy manages to generate more hate than the mob has toward Blue guy. Red guy
gets claim. Notice the color of the mob's name change?
This adjustment will fix situations where someone
provokes a mob, but it keeps attacking somebody else. Say Someguy uses "Earth Crusher" instead of "Rock Crusher"
by mistake and the AoE hits a nearby mob B. "Earth Crusher" has ticked off Mob B pretty royally. I come by and
cast "Dia" to try to get it off Someguy. Dia does not generate more hate than the "Earth Crusher" AoE damage, so
Mob B keeps attacking Someguy and ignores me. I don't have a claim on Mob B. Neither does Someguy. It's an
unclaimed mob attacking him. Now say I come along and Flash and Provoke. Those two generate more hate than the
"Earth Crusher" AoE and I get the claim and the mob comes after me.
Also, if you read the full text,
you'll see this line above those pictures:
"Accordingly, players will no longer be attacked by monsters
that they themselves are unable to attack."
From my interpretation, this will affect PLs in one way: Dunes
tanks will have to learn their jobs the hard way. No more WHM casting Cure IV and drawing the mob to hit them
instead of the party. The WHM can still spam cure the tank, but the mob will no longer redirect its attention the
WHM spamming cure. You can't attack a purple (claimed) mob, so it won't attack you.
Now, this is just my
interpretation, of course. We'll have to wait until everything comes back online before we see how PLs are
affected.
