I heard people talking about decomposition in goldsmithing, and I have yet to find any recipies telling me at what levels or what crystals I need to do this. So I was wondering if any of you know how to? I wanted to know some useful ones like:

Silver Hairpin
Brass Flower Pot
Gemstone Earrigns

etc etc. Just wondering if any of you have any useful info about this. Thanks in advance!

Ummm just for your info...decomposition means that you decompose the object and you get some base material in return. For example....a silver ring will yield silver ingots....so forth. Most are done with a lightning crystal. The objects that you listed can be decomposed but if you looking to make them that's another story. Depending on the object you gonna need skill, ingredients, and the right crystal. Goldsmithing is expensive and I sort of regret pouring so much into it >smile.gif Goldsmither....42

Is Goldsmithing worth it in the end? I've got it to 17, and it makes good profit, but it takes FOREVER for the stuff to sell. Currently I make Silver Ingots for bout 1.2k (including crystals and supplies) and they sell for bout 1.8k-2k. I'm on Bismarck Server.

Basically if you decompose, you'll get back some of hte initial ingredients. The problem is that, in general, decomposing stuff is much harder than making it. On the bright side, there's a mogenhancement you can get that helps w/ desynth crafts.

The other big problem is that you dont get the ingredients that it takes to make the item. For instance, breaking down a copper ring wont yeild you two copper ignots, it will only give you two.

This trend is consistant with other crafts as well. For instance, while it takes 2 grass cloths, one grass thread, and 2 cotton cloths to make a robe in Clothcraft, breaking it down will only give you 5-8 grass threads.
