Similar to WoW like pvp? Ballista is a sad excuse imo.. Usually happens at horrible hours and if it happens during a good time, noone shows. Battle grounds would be a very good option, or a battle arena. Set it up so you can just enter in jeuno, 1v1 or team vs team. Allow people to bet gear/gil on it. I doubt it would ever happen tho.

Lol... You cant use Good PvP. And FFXI in the same sentence. If it ever happened SE would put Blizzard out of business cuz then this game would have everything all in one. Good PvP, Great Team aspect, and all the end game BS you'll ever need. Maybe, eventually this game will find the good PvP, but its highly doubtable cuz SE is makin money the way the game is now

You like jumping around and shooting fire crackers at each other? Iv played WoW pvp, and its not too fun, mages kick the shit out of everything with ease, and not even close to balanced. I think ballista is a good pvp, it doesnt have as much freedome as others, only because the way the game engine is. I play CoV, and the pvp is more of a travel sport, and gives a certain relief of freedome FFXI cant offer, but ballista is geared to suit this game, and only thing I could ask for, is pvp zones.

Mages get pwned by druids in PvP, only been beat by 1 mage and taht was because he was 6 levels higher than me... the PvP is balanced, but people get twinked out for PvP andit becomes unbalanced, or 3 players travel together and make it unbalanced... the only class that pwns all is the fuckin shaman, that is so broken its not even funny.. the FFXI PvP is shitty PvP, its more sport than PvP.

Honestly, the level of PvP in WoW and FFXI are pretty similar, much though no one will admit it. It's ultimately a bunch of assholes running around ganking each other while a few folks actually realize that they're playing Capture the Flag (or whatever) and forego the stupidity to finish the game and get their rewards that way. It's not really PvP any more than intra-mural football is PvP.

Ok I have two things to point out to you in case you didn't know:

1) Diorama Abdjals Ghelsba. Sign up for a 1 hour slot and invite your friends. This place is rarely every booked so it's easy to do. You don't have to play ballista in here, you can just run around killing each other. 1on1, 2on2 or whatever.

2) Check this picture out. It shows the development schedule for ToAU. Notice "New multi-player battle area additions". Also if you've been to Aht Urhgan Whitegate or if you just check the ToAU trailer or the maps on ffxi-atlas.com, you'll notice that there is an arena called "The Pit". This is future 1on1 pvp as mentioned in a 1up interview sometime ago (sorry, I don't have the link atm).



Hope this clears some stuff up.

It's not fun for you, because you were not good at it.. I was a priest in WoW, yet i did very well in pvp. My main problem with ffxi pvp is the fact that it's rare to get in a match and you can't play several in a row from my experience. WoW is lacking in fun pve, imo... To many dickheads and showoffs not doing their actual job. FFXI has great pve, probably the best i've experienced. Wish i could take the soulbound, pvp and economy from wow and stick them in ffxi, sure alot of jerks would quit because they all of a sudden arent the richest of the rich, but that's all good.

Dude its not that hard. I played my friends 60 mage in pvp, he told me to just run and jump around and keep clicking these 3 icons till there dead. I also played another char of his that had some pets, so all I did was have a half naked bitch fly around smacking ppl to death.

Oh well I like FFXI's pvp, I dont like breener one bit, but I hope they make more of a kill based pvp soon.

I'm sorry he was a mage.. They are quite a shame at pvp if you ask me, but it is alot more fun for the classes that are good at pvp. Priest, warrior, rogue, locks, shaman, most of the other classes are great at pvp. Mages get their asses whipped over and over.

by suck, you mean i won ever single match i was in? I went as bst every time and just throw my tiger on one of the other team, for some reason they tried to run from it forever.. Made it easy for me and mine to destroy what was left of them. I played it about 15 times.

EDIT: my jobs on left side are very outdated, thf is over 60, bst is over 30 and i think ninja is over there.. It's 35-36.

PvP in FFXI was an afterthought by the developers.

PvP in WoW is one of the main focuses of the game.

What is it that you want me to admit? That PvP in the two are similar? Might as well ask me to admit that Apples are Oranges.
