I still can't believe beta invites for it were fetching a price of ~400 on auctions.

Their beta system ain't that great. Some people were getting 3-4 beta keys.

Betas are never that great to me. Although it's interesting to see before and afters from beta to retail if it goes through a lot of changes. Sorta like how Goldeneye looked like a nearly different game between beta and retail.

I miss my gameshark hacking. The beta glass windows were so much better than the finals.

That's why I'm so damn excited, just hearing some of the game breaking stuff is fucking hilarious.

Protoss Mothership having a bug-out ability so it can warp away any time it's remotely close to dying.
Protoss Chrono Boost working on Allies, allowing Terrans to shit out tons of Marines really fast.
Terran Reaper rushes absolutely destroying opponents.

Rest of the changes are so essoteric that p. much only pro players care.

Just seeing the metagame developing is amazing, as someone can take a "useless" unit, and use it effectively.

But really, I want to try the matchmaking. The ranking system looks fun, and will try to pit you against opponents of similar skill (I never played Ladder matches in Brood War because I suck) and it really seems like you can analyze what you're doing compared to your opponent, and learn from your replays.

Probably just as well I'm not in it, fucking school.

True, you got me there. However I guess it depends on the game. Some games beta is only a few nitches different than retrail in terms of looks. XI's beta didn't look TOO different than the actual game from what I noticed.

Damn thinking of GE makes me want to find and dust of my N64 in hopes it still works. Still sucks my GameShark scrambled up my cart of SSB, every time I played single player mode the computer would always make me play as Mario instead of Link/Capt. Falcon/etc.

i glad they are releasing such a massive story line for each race, i've enjoyed every blizzard single player story line so far.

I never played a Blizzard game other than The Lost Vikings II. It's not that I don't like Blizzard, it's just I hate PC games with a passion since I suck using a keyboard and finding a good gamepad is annoying.

I should break down and just buy a PS3 controller for my PC.
