I recently leveled Woodworking to 60 quick and easy. I now want to start a new craft, Blacksmithing, and level it to 60. I will probably do this for each craft until I choose one I like. I already have a skill level of 2 from synthing Bronze Ingots for Gil. I did my research and came across some nice finds. I would like to skill up from the following recipes.

2-4 Bronze Ingot
Lightning Crystal
Bronze Cap

4-5 Bronze Ingot
Lightning Crystal
Bronze Mittens

5-6 Bronze Ingot
Lightning Crystal
Bronze Sword

6-7 Bronze Ingot
Lightning Crystal
Bronze Leggings

7-9 Bronze Ingot
Lightning Crystal
Bronze Subligar

9-10 Bronze Ingot
Lightning Crystal
Bronze Mace

I don't know a lot about Desynth, but I plan on having Mog Enhancement: Desynth. What factors should I look for when attempting this? Is this even a good idea? I'm not sure if Desynth is built on an entirely different structure than Synth. Can anyone please give me further detail before I do this? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

From what I've seen, trying to get skllups from desynths is unreliable at best, and horrible at worst. Crafting up items then desynthing to get materials back is one thing, but to try to get skillups from just desynth isn't worth the time of monry involved, especially at that low of a level, where skill ups usually come fairly fast.

I'd say get to 10 (or wherever), then try desynthing to get materials for more synthing if you really want to desynth, or if you can get the item for cheap...

This is completely wrong.

From personal experience, beastman parts act differently then other desynthable (is it word?) items.

I started desynthing Gold Orcmasks with 48.0 skill, the cap is 52.
I once went for a couple hours farming, got 14masks or so and desynthed 8 or 9, and it's about the same all the time. So your 19/20 fail doesn't add up in any way.

Edit: Lol, sorry, forgot to read the OP's post and just scrolled down. Yeah, desynth skill ups suck. I desynthed well over 5stacks of Gold ingots, not including the break, and got only 0.1 (47.9>48.0) with well over 60desynths being 4 levels under the cap.

don't bother desynthing for skill. The normal recipe for the first 20 level smith are pretty cheap and easy.
