Make sheep wool from levels 1 to 4. Recipe is 2 sheepskin + wind crystal. As long as you hunt your own sheepskin, this'll make profit for you early on. From levels 4-7, make Rabbit Mantles. You can EASILY get Rabbit Hides from killing the many denizens or rabbits/forest hares in the Ronfaure area (it might mean you have to travel if you're from another country). Recipe is 5 Rabbit Hides + Grass Thread + Earth Crystal. From skill level 7-11, you can make Solea if you don't mind making your own Sheep Leather. Solea is made with the formula 2 Sheep Leather + Wind Crystal. After that, if you don't mind losing some gil for higher skill level, you can make Lizard Helms until skill level 15. Or you can just start making Lizard Jerkins from skill level 11.

Umm...I made rabbit mantles from level 0. And killing for rarab hides gets so annoying after a while. Damn greedy rarabs wanting to keep their sorry already dead hides on them.

Yes, rabbit mantles CAN be made from skill level 0. But if there are sheep around, it's better (and more profitable) to make sheep wool for the first four levels. And why else do most people take up a craft other then to profit from it? ^^

PS: The rabbits around San d'Oria drop hides a lot more often then anywhere else i've noticed.

Mmhm! Camp Jaggedy Jack. Tristram likes those Rabbit Hides.

Camped Jaggedy Jack for a few hours and made 11 rabbit mantles. It was fun.

Heh. I do that when I want to make some Rabbit Mantle +1s for someone (or myself). Then again my leatherworking is now 50. For those of you that think Leatherworking is an easy and cheap craft to raise, think again. I've probably put in a mil or two into this craft to get it where it is >.>
