I fought alot of blu as drg/whm in 60 cap, they did not seem very impressive. Never used any cool spells, and seemed to have weak defense. Blastbomb was seemingly the only spell they ever use.

Maybe its different in uncapped, with more powerful spells

BLU that use Blastbomb should be shot.
Id honestly rather use Mysterious Light.

But if the BLU was decent, he'd just spam most of his Physical Spells(After he defbuffs, if the BLU has time/opportunity) since they are damaging, .5 second cast, and are plenty.

Blu is only going to get worse I think. Blu is very over powered in NO way should all there spells cast faster then rdms, in NO way should they be able to solo better then a bst. pld/rdm would lose big time, at least I would think.

Blastbomb comes in handy at times. Radiant Breath is ok... and i got bound and left alone and a BLU beat the shit outta me... until backup arrived. They can take a lot of your HP down at a pretty fast rate. This is all from what ive noticed while fighting them in 60 caps.

actually I fought a BLu 75/nin 2 days ago and it was a great duel. Ilmatorri was his name not only his a good player, well merited and well geared. I will admit Blu is the strongest PvP job I ever fought.

Fight lasted about 5min-8min
He hit me 0-17 dmg mainly more zero.
What killed me most is the add affect of disservement(highest disservement i saw is 74) and add effect which is 18hp per tick (which is about 1000ish dmg over time). Also his absorb MP which took 84 mp from me. I manage to land 3 WS on him, but he has all my mp lol Basically I was defeated, but I always manage to take him down to 15% one WS away,however with no MP for 4 min lol I cant win the fight. I give props to Blu, yes they are very strong.

My biggest mistake was not using Regen and Barpoison. I will next time lol
Also for chaotic eye guys, just turn around or go behind him to hit him couple of times so you wont get silence and its takes a while to cast, so you get to hit Blu 3 times if you have joyeuse. Overall it was a great match and I learn a lot from it. IMO I wouldve done better as /war vs him to keep interrupting his moves.

Future...
I will come as Homam body piece and /war sub, we will see but definitely Blu is a well balance job, maybe too well balance lol the other melee dont even last 45 secs but at least Our fight lasted long time and I almost beat him. With shield block though his reg hits was nothing, his DOT whats dangerous he had a good strategy.

You obviously have not followed the history of Blue Magic and Blue Mages.

Blue Magic has always been more powerful than RDM's offence, but at the same level of versisility they have for the sacrafice of a bit of survivalbility.

The fast casting mimics the fast attacks of the monster skills, seeming the only really fast ones are physical, reliant on accuracy, and can be completly resisted as opposed to just partical resisted, thats balanced enough. Smaller MP pool with no Convert makes BLU a faster class, but ultimatly a class that can burn itself out far quicker than rdm ever could.

Two jobs on the opposite ends of the same spectrums. The class fits perfectly. RDM's Chainspell will always be faster than BLU Magic. And when you pay attention to the types of magic BLU's entire magical spectrum is slower than a rdms.

Soloability, I know a PLD that can chain toughs if he pushes himself, a Whm that solos mostly for exp. A BLU's solo ability drops off when they hit 30+ for the most part. And SE was stating they wanted to make soloing easier in general. I've always said it was misconseption that BST was a solo specialist, this just provides more evidecne to that statment. On the same coin, expect BST to become more party friendly in the future.

I personally dont expect BLU to get worse. I expect the other jobs to start improving. SE has made a reversal on their perspective as of late, a trend that will hopefully contiue as long as we do our best not to over-exploit anything.

The only nerf I realistically see comming for BLU is a multi-hit nerf in ballista.

I'm suprised actually, because usually in ballista I start fights with radiant breath, which FUCKS plds (especially those that sub ninja[really anyone that subs ninja]).

its kinda funny, cause slow and silence blows and owns 'em in the face.

60 cap I've messed up the majority of jobs, but a good drk with a vassago's and hauby (or +1) and a nice guillotine (with that lame ass silence crap) usually can put me low (low enough to cry) and then a follow up double attack will more than likely drop me.

I will say this though, hitting plds is like hitting a fucking brick wall, with your nut sack. But nothing seems to brigthen a resting pld's day than a fucking sneak attack chain affinity going off followed by a death scissors up the ass.
