I don't think Water Shot enhances Poison since the only effect it DoT I believe someone tested it and the DoT remains the same.


My own tests show that, while it doesn't increase the actual damage per tick, it does increase the duration, as with all enfeebles.

Also as a sub the buff potency is about 50% of what a main COR gets without job bonus.


Are you certain?
Can I get confirmation of this from anyone, before I alter the guide? I admit I've done very limited testing in this area, but what few tests I did perform showed that buffs remained the same strength.

Ah point taken about Poison ^^

I tested subbing COR on DRG74/COR37 with Chaos Roll, Bust was always -6.5%ish and unlucky was 0.8% instead of 0.9%(ish) but the rest was roughly 50% of what I got as COR main smile.gif

Thumbs up I'm glad there is no real bias included.

I would also like to ask your opinion on /RDM sub (End game only) having a magic atk bonus, stoneskin, Cure series would it be useful for pumping up your quickdraw abit (not as much as /BLM course) and still be able to keep yourself alive for Fafhog and other Kings & Wyrms?

And also to note end-game if you sub /WHM I think its quite easy to pump a COR's MP to 400-500 just a tiny bit expensive (cries thinking of empowering mantle +1).

Stoneskin and Phalanx are useless when you sub RDM unless you have a natural Enhancing Magic skill. On EP-DC spiders in tree they hit through Stoneskin with one attack and I didn't notice any damage reduction with Phalanx.

At lvl 60 you get 22 RACC from subbing RNG. So, with a trailer dagger (I think lvl 61; I forgot, lol), beaters earring, gun belt, and subbing RNG, you will have a total of 44 RACC & 5 RATT.

Subbing NIN lets you equip two trailer daggers for a totlal of 28 RACC and no RATT.

Just though I would add this, lol. I love /RNG sub!

It significantly increases duration of any enfeeble~ I remember one party I was in, the NIN accidentally 2HRed, the BLM hit Stun, I fired Lightning Shot and the mob didn't do a thing for about 10-15 seconds >.>

I think you mistook the whole reason I mentioned /RDM which was for End Game situation HNM/King/Wyrms (not Meritpo or Solo). It increases Quick Draw damage , Gives you moderate protection vs Hurricane Wing, Tebbad Wing and other such AoE but Stoneskin only cause I agree Phalanx is weak subbed and it also gives you some healing ability for self preservation and in a pinch for another member of your team.

yes and i believe /rdm is a viable sub in certain cases, perfect for kirin fight at least... /whm might be a bit more useful to help with status effects on wyrms and cerberus =<

It lets you use Slug Shot at 55 instead of 56.
Other than that, I honestly don't know.

Just like to chime in about COR being used as a subjob and it's effects. I was leveling my 25RNG sub out in the jungles last night and decided to swtich to RNG/COR and see how it worked. I tried Hunter's Roll for a while, but the effects weren't apparent at all. I switched to Corsair's Roll to just give everyone a little bonus exp. A little bonus was correct. On a mandy that would have normally given us 200 exp, we got 210 instead, AFTER I had rolled a 5 (the lucky number). THat's only a 5% increase in exp. Not worth it as I was hitting more frequently and a little harder with NIN sub.
