In the Crawlers nest in the secret room is a "Strange apparatus" what does it do and how can i use it.

Trade a Infinity Core and a correct colored chip (look at the crystal at the top of the apperateus for the color) and you get a random item. Very good is very rare the others are junk and common.

MTs list of drops leaves a lot to be desired, is there a better list anywhere?

As far as my research its the best there is.

So its 21k for chip, 30k for core (at least on my server).

And you gamble for:
Rune weapon (jackpot for 500k-1mil)
Arcane flowerpot, crystal cluster, rune arrow (kill yourself, you just lost your expensive lottery)
Adaman nugget, cerment chunk (consulation price, nearly returns stake)

Also bewarned, unlike casino the chances of top prize is not what the odds suggest. Be prepared to loss alot of money, this is like lottery nothing more.

Almost everything you pull out of the apperateus is junk and you take it as a loss. The couple of good things are paydirt. Its a gamble though.

I've actually tried this ... Infinity Cores are only 3-4k on my server

Before you use the machine, you have the option of entering a password

The machine talks about upgrading your level to 'doctor' if you have the right password, and that the machine will adjust accordingly

So far I've only had it authenticate me as 'Assistant'

The one time I tried in Gusgen Mines was with a Yellow Chip + Infinity Core
