the level required to equip an AF weapon is not always 42 as someone could think reading this guide. it ranges from 40 to 42 depending on the job. it's level 40 for our Barbaroi Axe fortunately

new lvl location for duo:
Area: Wajaom Woodlands F12, H12
Pets: worker pephredos, soldier pephredos (might be tough to charm at lvl 62)
Enemy: Puk
Simple put you can easy duo there with 4 bees being there and 5 puks near there. Charm the bees and fight the puk, and when you release them you can go charm the next 2 bees. After the next fight the first 2 bees should have poped again. Since the pet and the enemy share the same place there are no long pulls.
lvl 62-64 exp was rangeing from 200 - 330 (without ring). Very easy fights, the puks die very fast (low hp?). you basicly never run out of pets and enemys. I would even think a trio works at lvl 62 there. You can solo too, but its way to tough and dangerous.

Wajaom Woodlands lvl 66
H-11 south near the tunnel
pet: spiders
enemy: puk
charm spiders fight puks, you might need to switch pet sometimes when you encounter a VT puk. Spiders range from even match to tough. 150 - 270 exp per kill. Fast and save kills 5k exp per hour usually

some new lvl spots:
lvl 68-71
Bhaflau Thickets G-8
pet: Red kisser (Leech)
enemy: Colibri
Notes: very nice camp, 2 Bsts can go there on solo, 3 bsts = you wont have enough enemys to fight. exp ranges at lvl 68 from 200-300+ later on from 150-220 or so at lvl 71 5-6k per hour usually. Nothing aggros there. Use at lvl 68 the tough leeches against the VT colibris and the even match leeches against the tough colibris. EM leech vs VT colibri means you will need a 2. pet in order to kill the colibri.
lvl 70 Halvung M-7
enter from Bhaflau Thickets F-8 into Halvung then follow according Halvung map, is very nearby
I would suggest subbing RDM due to crawlers cocoon move
pet: Purgatory and Volcanic Bats
Enemy: Magmatic Eruca
Notes: This one camp is not so fast like the puk or colibri camp but still nice. Purgatory Bats in Halvung dont have a Evasion down move but a Defense Down move, which is pritty nice. Sub RDM in accordance to dispel Cocoon (if its possible, I didnt test yet), or your pet might not make until the end of the Crawlers Lifebar.

Yeah, not on the character that u duod with (which is now my main obviously by the name) but ive been playing for over two years, and wouldnt you think ive had other characters? Besides, my character sucks way to bad now to have been playing for 2 years ( Rank:5 Pld 31, War 30, bst 22, thf 19, nin 12, whm 11, blm 5, mnk 7, and other low lvl stuff) but trust me I have (or had) other characters that I have leveled up beastmaster on.

One of the recent tweaks to FFXI resulted in the way leave is used being substantially altered. Now, monsters that you use leave on outside of their 'home' area (basically the area that they will wander around in if left alone), will despawn within 10 seconds, and spawn about 20-30 seconds later inside their home area. The advantage to this is it makes converting pets incredibly easy. Instead of having to kill off DC or T pets, you can now just charm them, and use leave a few steps away. By using this method, you can have 2-3 EM pets ready to go inside of a few minutes.
This is kinda false... other BST have to be able to agree with me. While it is true that the Leave command will make your charm mob despawn if too far out from it's "home", this does not make a different level of mob respawn. The mob that will respawn 20-30 seconds later is the same mob you used Leave on, just with full HP now that it's been missing for half a minute.

32-39: Eastern Altepa Desert
PETS TO CHARM: Giant Spiders (30-34), Sand Beetles (36-40), Desert Dhalmel (39-44)
MOBS TO FIGHT: Giant Spiders (30-34), Sand Beetles (36-40), Anticans [Auxiliarius, Faber, Funditor] (35-39), Goblin Trader Spider Pet (38-40), Desert Dhalmels (39-44), Anticans [Decurio, Sagittarius, Speculator] (44-49)
NOTES:
32-35, Pets and mobs spread out, use Widescan. Avoid fighting Dhamels. Goblin pets are weak for their con strength, just fight them with pet when goblin is not looking.
36, Camp North of Korroloka zone entrance, where entrance to Quicksand Caves exists (Tough spot to level). Begin using Beetles as pets in addition to spiders.
37-38, Dhalmels become a viable target mob, as well as high-tiered Anticans (ants tough fights!).
39, Move camp to Western Altepa zone. Use beetles and dhalmels vs. dhalmels and high tiered anticans.

You'll never find a Beetle or a Dhalmel that is below IT at Lv39 in Western Altepa Desert. Maybe this was meant for Lv49 BST...

I use this way to convert mobs from Ts or DCs to EMs. So from my experiences I know that it is not always the same mob which despawned that repops. It is possible for the mob to repop at the same level, but there is a chance that it can repop at a different one. So I believe Odeken is correct in his statement.

This is definitely 100% not true. The mobs that repop may repop as the same level just by chance, but it is not the same mob at all that you used Leave on just moment ago.

Yeah, I've had experiences with that. It helps(allow you to turn a Easy prey to decent challenge or even match[if the mob can become that high in that particular area) or it hurts(changing the level of the mob you wanted to something you don't want) .

Yeah sorry about this guys, I had some really shitty luck when testing this out... I had a mob despawn and repop 11 times in a row as T (in a zone where there were DC~T) so I jumped too far on the gun. Once again, sorry for the confusion.
Edit:
Found this guide when looking around for some inbetween levels. It has a lot of different outlooks on leveling areas
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Beastmaster_S...Levelling_Guide
It's very neat too.
