PETS TO CHARM: Giant Spiders (30-34), Sand Beetles (36-40), Desert Dhalmel (39-44)
MOBS TO FIGHT: Giant Spiders (30-34), Sand Beetles (36-40), Anticans [Auxiliarius, Faber, Funditor] (35-39), Goblin Trader Spider Pet (38-40), Desert Dhalmels (39-44), Anticans [Decurio, Sagittarius, Speculator] (44-49)
NOTES:
32-35, Pets and mobs spread out, use Widescan. Avoid fighting Dhamels. Goblin pets are weak for their con strength, just fight them with pet when goblin is not looking.
36, Camp North of Korroloka zone entrance, where entrance to Quicksand Caves exists (Tough spot to level). Begin using Beetles as pets in addition to spiders.
37-38, Dhalmels become a viable target mob, as well as high-tiered Anticans (ants tough fights!).
39, Move camp to Western Altepa zone. Use beetles and dhalmels vs. dhalmels and high tiered anticans.

You'll never find a Beetle or a Dhalmel that is below IT at Lv39 in Western Altepa Desert. Maybe this was meant for Lv49 BST...
[/quote]
I will go and check it out for myself later today because my PLD is 39. But I recently remember leveling it at around 35 or so here in Eastern Altepa, and our group moved on to dhalmels because beetles were getting to be too easy. I think I remember some of them checking as VT at 35... but I am not too sure. I will go check it out today or whenever I can get on ffxi again and let you know soon.
Guys just to refresh your memory because it sounded like you were giving me credit above... I did not write this guide but I do use it, and no I am not a level 75 bst (but I plan to be in the future because I love this job) but I found it very helpful for me leveling up BST so I put all the sites that helped me into this guide. I DID NOT WRITE ANY PART OF THIS GUIDE, except for a few small details that I modified. I also put the site URL and give credit to everyone who imputs information. Thanks

I do believe Lv. 39 camp is referring to the zone(tunnel) to Western Altepa in Eastern Altepa. On the way to Rabao from the crystal.
These quotes are all jacked up I canno fix it :dozingoff

Ah, I guess that makes sense. It's not the most ideal camp for the level tho. I guess people should be more specific when submitting info like that, saying Eastern Altepa Desert (F-6) - Camp Near Tunnel and make some steamy Dhalmel vs Dhalmel love. But anyways, understood.
EDIT: This is a submission--
Lv64-65, You should be able to duo in Wajaom Woodlands at (H-11). Use Worker Pephredo vs Puks. Puks will be VT at 64, but don't worry, the Bees, if you have 2 BST there will be able to tank. Watch out for Soldier Pephredo, because he aggros sight, and the bees will link. At Lv65, I got Chain #5 everytime, 180-250 exp. The Puks con T-VT at 65. This is definately soloable at 65, as probably noted somewhere in the guide. 6.5k/hr.

Talk to Brutus at the chocobo stables in Upper Jeuno. After listening to what he has to say, go to Middle or Upper Delkfutt's Tower. Once there, kill Gigas Wallwatchers, Kettlemasters, Spirekeepers, Torturers, Bonecutters, Stonemasons, Punishers or Hallwatchers until a chest key drops. Then you will need to find the chest and open it, to get a bell key item. Now you can return to Brutus, who will give you the Barbaroi Axe.
You don't have to do all this as BST right? Can do as a different higher level job if you have one after accepting the quest?

Yes, you can do the Delkfutt key part as a different job.

Thought so, just didn't want to waste the time getting the key, pop the chest then be like "oh shit! gotta get a new key"

A couple comments on the higher level BST camps. The 68-71 leech vs colibri camp in my experience only supports 2 BST at the expense of a hit to both players' XP/hr. Also it is usually REALLY crowded - on Valefor at least I see a lot of PLD/BST and such go there too, because it's very easy XP. The only way you can really die is if you mischarm, link 3 leeches, and then miss Tame (which did happen to me once so far in 3 levels, haha).
Also there's a really great XP spot that very few ppl seem to know about. I think it's for 66-68 or so, and you really need an Apollo's Staff to do ok there. You take the Runic Portal to Caedarva and stealthily get past the first area, past a narrow bend, and you'll come to an area with 3 VT (maybe IT?) Jnun and 2 DC-EM slimes. If you have good gear you can usually charm the slimes in 1-2 tries or so, just keep blink and SS up. Each slime can usually finish off a VT or IT Jnun with your melee help, though a weak slime against a strong Jnun will need some Reward help. Once you get the hang of it you can chain them for really insane looking XP amounts, I remember getting chain3 600 numerous times. Just be sure to pull the Jnun far from his friends because they have really huge HP aggro range.
Hope this helps, happy hunting^^.

Found a different camp for lvl 67-70ish I'd guess in Wajoam Woodlands. It's in almost the far northwest corner in an area with lots of tigers and Treants. I went there as a duo and got similar xp to the Jnun camp in Mire. Two tigers took out one Treant with melee help with little problems. Great thing is, there were no saplings around at all to link to the treants, like in other tree areas. At 67, most tigers were EM with a few being T. I still preferred the Jnun camp, but not a bad alternative if that camp is taken.

So, now with the new update here it seems like we have to figure out some new camps. What are people finding? Especially at lvl 75? Bibiki Bay is no longer an option. Trolls in Mount Zhayolm are still good. What else is there?
