I'm working. My job sucks.

One more hour to go,
nothing interesting so far except for a lot of sirens going by a few hours ago after lunch.
I have no idea where they were going or what was going on.
I'll probably read it in a newspaper tomorrow morning or see it on the news tonight.
Other then that, just calling customers making appointments for soft/hardware upgrade installations.
Keeping the DB up to date and browsing the web.

Nothing much going on today, other than that I just read in the news that some poor guy who signed up to test out a drug now has cancer from those same tests. Although he probably knew that testing out new drugs is not a thing to be taken lightly, I wonder if he ever imagined in his wildest deams that he would get something like cancer.

Other than that (and this should indicate to everyone just how severe my ADD is), I want to go to Friendly's but the closest one is 30 minutes away.
lol

Now the question of the cancer is this.
Since cancer is a slow acting disease (its a disease of age if you look into the medical literature), did the drug he take accelerate the process or did he previously have cancer but the threshold of detection was too low for the current applications to detect it.
I'm thinking the later.
Or he has such a rare case of cancer that this drug does accelerate it. Its really god damn impossible to make human trials if the common cancers are already accelerated.

What's up my peoples?
Boss is out for the week, so there's gonna be even less to do.
Gatsby, Doom is gonna log me on for you-know-who and proxy on you-know-what. He said he might not be able to, so if he's not able to, can you do it? I'm logged in you-know-where.

This is true, I did think about that... Like for example, was he predisposed to being a cancer patient. However, in the article it states that some of the other testers had things that nearly killed them as well, including some guy's neck swelling up three times it's normal size. Just seems like the drug as a whole was messing with bodily functions that shouldn't have been touched. Again, I guess that's the risk you take when you decide to test out a drug. :dozingoff

True, most of those "Pharmaceutical" (quacks I tell ya) companies have you sign a contract where they do not take responsibility for any effect their drug may have.
Even if the effect shows up after x years of taking it there's nothing you can do.
I see the adverts a lot where they ask healthy young people to sit in a clinic for a week or 2 testing their new drugs that would help against symptom X.
And pay you out a good amount of money, students not having much often go to those institutes.
Frankly what those companies just want to know is what their garbage does to your body in that short period before they bring it on the market to make them even more money.
They do not even care what it des to you on longer term.
That just makes me sick.
10 minutes to go and I'm home free until tomorrow.

NIN got finished right before this summerfest.
