The days just keep getting hotter and hotter! But according to our sources in the Mog House Management Union (M.H.M.U.), the officials from each nation have decided to hold another festival to beat the heat! Yes, the Sunbreeze Festival is back with its upbeat music and dancing to bring cool breezes down from the heavens to Vana'diel.
The rumor is out, and the nations are getting into the festive mood. Volunteers from various shops and guilds have gathered to create town decorations and fireworks for the festival, and the moogles are out searching the nations of Vana'diel for Rakapopo Dancers. The goldfish scooping merchants are also hard at work mass-producing super scoops that break under the weight of particularly jumpy fish.
And of course, the master alchemist Azima is hard at work on-you guessed it-Azimuth Circle II! Once again, adventurers will need to team up and maintain close communication in order to find a specific target. It should be easy with good teamwork, but this time the event will be held outside of town, so you will have to keep a lookout for monsters as well!
Azima claims that she decided to hold the event outdoors this year to add an extra dimension of excitement. So with your heart racing at the end of the day, you can don a yukata together and have an even greater appreciation for the beautiful sight of fireworks.
Nights filled with music, dancing, fireworks, and games... Be sure not to miss this year's Sunbreeze Festival!

Azimuth Circle II: Part 1
1. Find a partner. I'm fairly certain that it doesn't have to be a male/female thing like Valentine's Day.
2. Talk to one of the event Moogles. Listen through the explanation if you want and then accept the quest. You'll be told to talk to a moogle again once both you and your partner are ready.
3. When you and your partner are ready, talk to the moogle and you'll be given a compass (doesn't appear in your inventory or key items) and a gate glyph that will warp you back to the moogle when you and your partner are done. You and your partner will be randomly sent to one of the three crag areas: Tahrongi Canyon, La Theine Plateau, or Konschtat Highlands. When you zone in, your level will be restricted to 1 and you'll have sneak/invis, but this wears off VERY quickly.
4. Your goal is to direct your partner to their checkpoint. You do this by resting and after a moment you'll be given directions to your partner's checkpoint. You can stay down and the directions will keep coming at about the same tic rate as if you were healing HP/MP.
5. When you find the right checkpoint, you'll find a doll buried there:

I warn you, you only have a few tries to get the right checkpoint before the quest is cancelled and you're forced to start over. So if you find a checkpoint you think might be yours, make sure to stand in front of it from different directions to make sure they match with the way your partner's compass is pointing.
6. When you and your partner both have your dolls, use the warp item you got from the moogle, trade your dolls with each other, then trade to the moogle.
Azimuth Circle II: Part 2
Getting the HQ yukata is pretty much the same quest except for this:
1. Both you and your partner must be wearing the NQ yukata. When you talk to the moogle, he'll comment excitedly that you're both wearing yukata and you're ready for a real challenge.
2. This time when you rest to check your compass, instead of being pointed north, east, southwest, etc... it gives you a number of yalms. I assume this is the game's version of paces. The smaller the number, the closer your partner is to their checkpoint, the larger the number, the farther. When it hits '0' your partner has the right checkpoint.
Aside from that, the quest is the same. Direct your partner, get your dolls, warp back, trade to each other, then trade to moogle.
Congratulations!
Tips:
1. You'll have to be careful not to get aggro while you're doing this because if either of you die, you'll both have to start the quest over. The sneak/invis you recieve at the beginning wears off real fast. Your concerns are the goblins, the local beastmen of the zone, undead at night, and weapons that hang around that white spine at the back of each crag.
2. Because of this, it's not a bad idea to do this quest by either setting your main or subjob as one of the jobs that has the radar that shows mobs as red dots. These jobs are: BST, NIN, THF, RNG, SMN, BLU.
3. The safest place to sit and heal is at the crag at the top of the stairs.
4. Some checkpoints are clustered very close to each other, so again, make sure you take measures to make sure you've found the right one.
Rewards:
For girls...

Onnagimi Yukata: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8694
For boys...
Otoko Yukata: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8691
Otokogimi Yukata: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8693
These yukata both dispense fireworks stacks of 99 which are different for NQ and HQ.
NQ gives Muteppo: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8821
This is really cool! A roman candle appears in your hand which shoots off a short burst of pretty, brightly colored fireworks in whatever direction your right hand is facing.
HQ gives Datechochin: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8822
Now this one just plain rules. It's hard to describe, but it's a costume firework that turns you into a glowing orange japanese lantern with a weird face. This lasts a few seconds. Here's a shot I took of myself after getting my HQ yukata.
Doing the Azimuth Circle II quest again after getting the HQ yukata will get you a random number of summer or festival fans. If you've never seen it before, it's a firework that makes a paper fan with japanese lettering appear in either your right or left hand.
Goldfish Scooping:
Check the link for locations on the scooping game vendors, there's one for each nation's noob zone and in Rabao. Get a goldfish bowl from the vendor which you equip in your ranged slot, and buy some super scoops which go in your ammo slot. Then stand in a body of water and use the /fish command until you get a message saying that a fish is approaching and hit the action key. It's pretty easy. You trade the goldfish to the vendor for points and then use those points to get prizes.
Tiny Goldfish = 1
Black Bubble-Eye = 2
Lionhead = 10
If you have the old yukata that improves goldfish scooping results, it does help a little.
There are two mystery boxes, one worth 50 points and the other 80 points. The 50 point one is a stack of 12 spirit masques, a firework that makes a skull with spooky smoke appear over your face. The 80 point one is the Ex Goldfish Set which is one of the ingredients used in both the Goldfish Bowl and Fighting Fish Bowl. If your haven't leveled your crafts, then you'll have to catch 80 points worth of goldfish and give them to a person who can craft it for you, so they can get the set from the vendor.
