at lvl 20 theres no reason to sub drk over drg
drk gives attack bonus
drg gives attack bonus and jump
i'd also recommend rng sub for 20-30 just for accuracy bonus

after level 20, i am assuming the PUPs have some basic idea on how to play. I didn't mean this as a 0-75 walk-though. this was a starting guide.

Thanks for the addiion of rng and drg subs. i didn't mess with them when i was leveling.

Your job has a huge gimp stereotype on it right now.
You're assuming all 20 pup know how to play? If they did, there wouldnt be lolpup. Theres a reason DRG forums have so many Stickies, they needed to beat the stupid out of other DRG.

"Monk: adds extra Hand-2-Hand bonus, and gives access to some specific gear."

Specific gear? Forgive my n00bness, but I don't play MNK or sub MNK to much of anything. What "specific gear" can you get from subbing MNK?

Wrestlers mantle
Cestus belt

Both activate with /mnk. Cestus belt might be ok till Life belt, especially since Hand-to-hand skill determines the base-dmg.

To hop on the subjob-topic, I think /drg might be a good alternative, +5% haste and +16 atk at level 30 (gear + job traits), together with jump will probably be better than defense bonus or Martial Arts 2 (32pup/16mnk).

Yes DRG sub FTW! Best sub til 50 I think, then berserk and double attack are hard to beat.

Ya, looked at them long and hard more then one time, but the conclusion i always come to is in a party i would like the 3 acc from battle gloves, and soloing 'Maton boots and the +3 AGI are hard to pass up.

Still tho, been tempted more then once.

I think 1 thing u shd clarify is the reason why you pick certain gear over others and more importantly, as a PUP, what gear you are focusing on. Its easy to be distracted by good stats on gear but if thats not your primary focus then it's more advisable to stay away from it.

I added some more feet.

As to what Spira said, Pre- level 35 look to balance ACC, STR and DEX.

Post level 40 i look for gear that grants acc 1st and foremost. Once you have as much ACC as you can get, go (if possible) 50% STR and 50% DEX.

Post level 55 Again as much ACC as possible. Once you have as much ACC as you can get, go (if possible) 25% STR and 75% DEX.

Someone said once that with the DEX and ACC build you may hit for krap, but at least you hit. Missing grant ZERO damage and ZERO TP.

This was my personal build. If someone had a different setup please post or PM me. PUP is a new job and where it may have worked for me, there has just not been enough comparison for me to feel good about saying that that setup is definitive.

Acc first, att second. If you've got good enough acc (which will be hard) then use haste gear. Dex and str are only used as an absolute last resort if you can't find anything else to use in a slot, dex helping acc isn't all that beneficial. There should be more than enough acc gear to use so that you'll never ever have to resort to dex gear past 50s. But if you can't find anything to use, then use att if you can't use att gear then use haste and if you cant find haste gear use str/dex.

Hi BanderDragon smile.gif

I love the thread you made here, and am flattered to be mentioned a couple times in it :love

I've started a beginner's thread as well over at "you know where" and have included a link at the top of it pointing to this thread. I hope that's alright smile.gif Thanks for this pretty collection of PUP goodness.

I'm more then happy for you to link this, i wrote it, and i am sure the others helped, for people to read. The more places it it, the more readers. Also, i added a link to your F.A.Q.s.

hmm, i always have trouble linking to you-know-where. working on it

Please add /brd as a viable sub. Yes laugh if you want, but the fact that you can give madrigal to the whole pt furthuring not only your acc, but everyone elses just a bit is good. At end of fight Paeon and you can help cure. I carry a song belt around and have that macrod in. I can land Foe Requiem on mobs about 1/3 of the time, esp if you mb it with fusion between doll and you (arcuballista --> combo/raging fists). And if anything bad happens your a last resort sleeper which lands on most mobs EM or VT if lucky and lower as an added bonus.

Ive parsed my fights from 25-46 and im either 1, 2, or 3rd best DD in the group. Usu. only good blms, mnks, and some blus outdamage me+doll with the exception of extremely well geared players.

Also, /whm is viable for taru, maybe even hume and mithra with appropriate gear. I can get nearly 200 mps with just my Tamas ring and an Ether ring + merits. I noticed this when the galka pld I had in pt last night had 97 mps at 45 . . .

Anyways any other ideas or questions let me know. But /brd is viable so far. I have a feeling that 60+ it might not work out as well but we shall see.
