muketsu NQ has the same base damage <_<
sai has 2 more dmg and higher delay

I'm trying to understand Ark's point of view on this, but I just can't. It may be due to the fact he's clueless or just insanely genius, which isn't the case here.
In the case of Yoto+1s VS Sais, I can understand why Sais would win. But, in fact Yoto+1s are a better choice from 46-61. They weaken an enemy's defense, which will result in better output. Sais have a bit higher dmg, but higher delay as well.
All that said, Yoto+1s FTW!

The point is atk speed :
Muketsu +1 = 222 delay ... like the kabutowari +1 and the Hirenjaku +1.
The only katanas ( long type ) with faster delay are amanojaku, unji and unsho.

You're actually trying to claim that 5 fucking delay results in more utility than a rather potent def down effect? Put away the crack pipe, son.

Sais wouldn't be on this list since they tend to be pretty expensive, and Muketsu +1's are also fairly expensive, at least on my server. Regular Muketsu are worse than Yoto +1's, so Yoto +1's are the most cost-effective way to go.

Hototogisu & Kitsutsuki.... they both have 185 delay but a bit lower attack (24 and 26 damage). would you guys consider using them for the speed until something like mamushito or Fudo?

Hototogisu I used until Fudo. Kitsutsuki I didn't get until well after 75, so it was only a toy to me. :3 A fun toy, at that.

Grats' on the sticky^^, well deserved.
And, now that its been brought up, what do you think of the shorter type katanas? They have lots lwr delay and lwr dmg, but is it worth giving up the damage for the more frequent hits? I tend to believe hitting more often will result in faster hate build but I'm not sure if the dmg you give up is worth the trade off.
Reason I ask, btw, is b/c the shorter types are usually less expensive, with the exception of the rares out there.

I'd personally go for having a higher base damage katana mainhand, and a fast katana in the offhand, like Hototogisu or Kitsukuki. Weilding both at the same time would definately be fun, since we all love high attack speed, but the lower base damage on the mainhand would be detrimental to weaponskill damage on xp type mobs.

Makes sense^^
Do you ever dual wield them on vt's n such? for burn parties? or do u just stick to the off-hand?

Personally, I've never used low-delay katanas that much, so I can't really comment. I'd like to pick some up and experiment sometime, though.

The only one of that type I've used regularly is the Hototogisu. Some of the best katanas for level 50 cap are the short katans though... albeit they're 1-2m ea on midgard.
They were occasionally useful at times when I was leveling ninja... but I don't really see them as being useful at 75.

The only time i've really used two low delay katanas is when solo'ing EP-DC mobs for Kseals or whatnot. Other than that, I prefer to keep Senjuinrikio in my main.

I'm a big fan of the fast low delay weapons as long as they're at least equal dps. Faster hits seems to help agro a great deal -- perhaps provoke isn't pure spike with a decay but spike and then decay during the ticks you don't do damage? Ah, well, that's just idle speculation, very hard to test. Then again, at 47, 2x Hien+1 will do more damage than 2x Yoto+1, too. And, if you can afford a Buboso or Kegeboshi, by all means grab those. You can't upgrade Buboso until 61 (if you get a hocho at 57, you'll still use the buboso in off-hand). 11 levels for a weapon is pretty damn nice.
I liked the yoto+1s when I used them before I got 2x hien+1, but honestly, the damn things just don't proc reliably enough. One fight every other hit will proc and then the next three fights you'll get nothing. It doesn't feel nearly as strong as acid-bolts or dia, too. I don't have to see those land to feel the difference. If yoto lands, the only way I know is because I saw it scroll past.
BTW, I'd avoid all the NQ weapons. HQ or better for katanas is the most important thing to spend gil on before any other item. The difference between armor and armor+1 is often unmeasurable (pure epeen). The diff between weapon and weapon+1 is astounding -- something to write home about.
