Hello all. To clear something real quick, yes I did apply to Mercury LS. I was trying to go the next level and join a great LS, but at the moment do not have the job at the coresponding level that they are looking for (75pld btw). I was fortunate enough to atleast be considered but dont have just what they are looking for atm. Nothing gained, nothing lost, I hope they find a great PLD to fill there void.

I have decided to try to start up an HNM LS worthy of what already exists and hope to work my way up the ranks in the HNMls community. We are in no danger of jumping to the level of what some of the great ls's are at currently like Merc/Poisoned/Ilt/Lust etc. but would appreciate just a nice welcoming. Just like when all the great ls's started up back in the day, there will be ups and probably alot more downs, but why not try to make a run at greatness.

Im looking forward to trying to build up what will become a great addition to the HNMls community on our server and hopefully compete for some of the bigger HNMs out there (which you all might consider a WOW because you already do it) and learn and take some ppl that have not had the good fortune of fighting in the game yet and geat the full experience of what FFXI has to offer. See you all in-game.

There are 3 or 4 elite linkshells, a few solid linkshells below that, and then a crap-ton of other linkshells swarming about. Most of the premium players, the ones with the best gear/most experience/most skill are already taken, so any new HNM shell starts off recruiting from the pool of rejects who couldn't find a home elsewhere and fresh level 75s who don't really know what they're doing. Between fighting the Genbus and Suzakus of the world and wiping repeatedly to Dynamis-Jeuno, you'll have to weed out the players that are lazy/greedy/crappy/incompetent and avoid breaking up the linkshell entirely. You'll also have to keep your sanity. But alas! The very top linkshells have all been around for 2-3 years minimum. So, if all goes well, you can look forward to fighting a wyrm sometime in mid 2009 (if the game's even alive in 2009).

Most new linkshells have a life expectancy of about 3 months, and falter when the leader decides it's not worth all the hassle. I'll even wager 1 million of Pyro's hard-earned gil that Aspiring Diabolos HNMLS #7062 falls into this category. But God bless all you guys for trying.

There are lots of them. Best thing you can do is try to ask what shells they were in before and ask about them. Probably gonna be negative but some of what is said will be true. Never let anyone get anything from your shell for a certain amount of events attended or a rl month. Easy way to weed out the greedy when they drop shell cause you didn't let them get rostrum pumps after being in shell 2 days.

Personally I feel if you're going to start up a new HNM LS you better do it with people you've known for a while in-game. With these people you'll know their habits and whether or not they're ready for an HNM LS. Especially if they'd be ready to join one and participate. Some better LSs are built with existing friendships. I'm not talking about the leaders, I mean the entire LS. Shouting for members should be limited if not non-existant, and well recruiting over the net is something that I don't really feel is good for new LSs. Although, if someone has a good reputation and you feel they can be trusted then it's all up to you.

Plus I don't believe all of the people who have the potential to be good members of endgame LSs are taken, but a large number of them have been.

If you do it right, you wont look for people. They'll look to join you.

Aviator, you are confused, you think there are people with quick brains who are good at playing games in FFXI still. Those ppl are in WoW or somewhere else. It was never hard, but it is hard to work as a team, Vrtra lives!

Agreed Tim, I left LOLFFXI about 1.5-2 months ago and haven't looked back. I don't miss the crap or the shitty fucking attitudes of most players now. I am having a great time in WoW with friends and enjoying my free time out and about.

Absolute Virtue lives. Imagine if you retired as a HNML without killing the hardest boss inthe game which has been killed by NA in just about every other server. You will forver be remebered as a scrub server and a scrub linkshell. Lol think your all high and might yet could not even finish the game.

WoW end game > FFXI endgame if you have not seen Nax and C'thun you dont have the right to comment either.

Edit:
Ehh never mind :/ i should of read your post tim as i actually agree with you i just get mad every time i see you post. Oh well WTS LIGHT STAFF

It's nice to find out what people really think, in some way or another.

Every linkshell that has killed AV has found some way to glitch it, whether by luck or exploit. It takes patience (on an absurd level), not skill. Tim isn't claiming PJ's is "high and mighty", but even so to this day nobody has killed 1/4 as many Jailer of Loves as PJ's did (or have they even seen AV for that matter) even half a year after we retired.

And the main reason for that is that nobody else care about that as much as PJ did. Also AV is luck, on other servers some LS killed JoL 7 times + and never got AV to spawn. Sorry that not everyone else focus on getting high priced, sellable item to sell and RMT the gil after. Thats nothing to be proud of.

Cool, we didn't really care about it either or we would have killed it. It is luck... luck in getting it to pop and luck in locking it up into its weak glitch mode which is why I responded to Loqiel's post. I was implying that it doesnt mean much if anything that someone killed AV... but that at the same time we were so far ahead of everyone that it is stupid to put down the fact that we didn't kill AV. Even if killing AV did mean something in terms of progress or "eliteness", our accomplishments ending a half a year ago would still hold us above what anyone on our server has accomplished.

Tim isn't implying that we're "high and mighty", he's saying people like YOU are retarded.

Lol says the RMT, call me retarded all you want, in my eyes you always gonna be a real money trading piece of sh**. People like you destroy the game, thats all. Yet you dare yourself make fun about Masaya in your sig.
Timothay is jerking every night about Vrtra, and its great you guys killed her, but you should also notice no other LS ever really tried to do and i'm pretty sure if she would drop anything usefull she would be claimed as fast as Tiamat is these days.
