Could be wrong but this is an equipment guide, not another cliche thread on Dragoon end game usage........do that on the other 9827349827394872 threads regarding this.

Nice guide, one note, Wyrm Mail gives all job traits of your current subjob, not just a random one.

for wyrm mail tested I seen in past seemed point to only one; on odd side the wyvern gains the job trait even if your job isnt high i think; when I was soloing had used wyvern got auto-regan with lvl20 whm; so really I'm not quite sure how it works.
Added: Barb. Zerehs and Dragon kote.

Really, all I know is /WAR my wyvern always gets Double attack, the others are more difficult to test..

This subjob argument is silly. Every "end-game" Dragoon should have multiple subs leveled and use what subjob is best based on battle tactics and party makeup. IMO, any DRG that does not have at a minimum WAR, THF, WHM, and SAM (even pre update had situational usefulness) is not a complete Dragoon. DRK, RDM, and BLU come in handy as well but I would not call them essential. Any argument about 1 subjob for end game activities is dumb, since even for the same fight, the party makeup may warrant which subjob will make you most useful in it.

I have /war, /whm and /sam but really I dont see /thf as big deal for drg it only used for extremely small number of fights and in most of them I find /sam better since purpose is SCing most likely then and sam fast tp helps u SC more.

/THF is perhaps my most commonly used sub. I do the majority of Limbus as /THF. It's extremely nice because you don't get any hate for your weaponskills, and also plants damage on the tank. Also for Gods and Kirin, /THF. Greater wyrms also we ta ws tanks from the front.

Limbus I normally use penta so /war or /sam does better; gods /thf vs /sam very agrueable; kirin if we scing /sam ftw I hate wasting gil on sleep pots or in melee burn /sam or /war; in exp I would never /thf; greater wyrms(not fafhogg; tiamat and jorm) we have enough thf and sams that other melee rarely put in; most drg rarely use /thf I guess your different but every1 plays class how they want to.

SA Wheeling Thrust consistently does 700-900 damage (more if enemy weak to piercing or brutal procs)while giving you no hate and giving the hate to a tank. While, yes, Penta can do more damage depending on the situation, you are truly missing out if there are not times when you sub THF.

dont we have a sj sticky thread to talk about this it is getting really off topic /em looks at the dead sj thread realize it only talks about wyvern and that we stilll need a real SJ end-game thread.
I'll end up lvling thf for sam when ever I get around to it and I'll try on drg but for now I really like how drg/sam and drg/war play for DoT.

I've kinda always thought my gear wasn't great but reading this I see I'm not doing TOO badly XD
Head:Wyvern Helm
Body:Assault Jerkin
Neck:Chivalrous Chain
Hand:Drachen finger gauntlets(I like the +to parry, and it helps a bit, I'll change it out when I can get a Hydra scale to make the Hydra gauntlets.)
Legs:Barone Conciales(spelling?)
Feet:Rutter Sabatons(I want Amir boots but can never ifnd people for mamool Ja training Grounds assaults XD)
Back:Amemet mantle+1
Belt: Warwolf belt, Life belt, Swordbelt +1(Depends on the situation)
Earrings:Fowling earring, Coral earring(I need to farm my accessories are kinda gimp >.>wink.gif
Rings: Puissance ring, Venerer's ring

all in all I THINK I just need better rings/Earrings and gloves, but I dunno, maybe someone can gimme advice tongue.gif

I would try to get ruby/sniper(or woodsman) atleast for rings, should try to get O-hat, for hydra scale they seem to be going fairly cheap on asura as of late; try for amir feet they are really good; pahl. hat, body or maybe gloves you may want to try to get.

Ares's Gear > All
You can macro swap in any wyvern HP+ gear for HBs if you're subbing whm, but nothing beats the stats on Ares's and the best thing about it is the Double attack+ for the full set. Add a brutal earring on top of that, and you're going to be a top DD in any pt, even with /whm.

Good guide WK, just one thing I spotted... smile.gif

Wolf~Knight :
Hydra Harness – very large temporary +attack(+25attack lasts 30mins I think) highest attack on body for frg. (Obtained: Dynamis – Tavnazia)

I can't swear on my life on the body since never seen it, but I have the feet and Manaburn's also gotten the hands of the enchanted Hydra gear set and I can say with certainty that the enchantment on those lasts for 30 seconds only and you also lose it if you unequip the piece or zone. Such a waste of polygons that could had been awesome.
