yeah i was thinking DEF/VIT setup with carapace gear and like, some persikos au laits, yag drinks, and hi potion drops.

the carapace set will give a ton of def+ and att+ as the pup and pet wear you down, and if they manage to get you into the red... reverse convert bish. 150HP/600MP -> 600HP/150MP = uh ohes for PUP.

but yeah i get jaybar's point that it would be like a 30 minute ordeal since RDM DD output is hella lame if you are actually tanked out to survive without buffs. its lame if you are wearing DD gear, who am i kidding.

As for solo play... So what? =P I hate these comparisons because, so rarely do I see solo play actually make a difference in big things, such as HNM. Yea, RDM/NIN can solo pretty well too, but do they use the same tactics in HNM? Or XP? PLD's can outlast a LOT of things with /RDM subbed. Try that in an XP or (again) HNM situation.

I'm just debating for the sake of debating, really - I have nothing against DRG's and love them in xp PT's. But what can they offer that other jobs can't? Peircing damage can easily be replaced by a good RNG, COR or THF. Support and damage? The COR is good at that. Healing ability? lol Get a healing job, like WHM or even 2xRDM.

Show me something you can do better than any other job, and you'll convince me. Keep reminding me that you have a hodgepodge of bullshit, and I'll call it just that - Bullshit.

And checking dragoons that stand out (i.e. full af) isn't a good source of knowledge. I don't even think you know what good gear dragoons can wear and you wouldn't be able to spot them even if they had a big ass fork lance on their back.

Let's examine: DRG A has mostly AF and STR rings. This is common
DRG B has pimped gear, probably not their first job.
DRG C is fairly well geared, using acc rings and swapping AF when necessary.
DRG D is a complete fucking gimp.

A and D are the most common on the road to 75. Your claim is void anyway, as I've always compared myself with other DRGs on my server gear-wise. Yes, I'm a DRG too dillhole. That said, you have nothing, I repeat nothing, to make your claims worthwhile. Now go sit at the kiddy table and have some "gram crackers" while the grown ups talk.

Making assumptions? About what? Did I call you some name? Did I say you are a gimp? I did make the assumption that you gained your knowledge by noticing dragoons in purple armor. You do NOT see them end-game. I have not come across ONE dragoon in full af outside of the city (i.e. exp/hnm/events etc). Your server might be clustered with noobs, but then you aren't able to make a universal statement saying that all dragoons suck. I have seen dragoons from across all servers via the forums that don't have full af or in your case DRG A and DRG D.

Where do game mechanics come into this? Are the mechanics supposed to be "DRG=Gimp, end of story" ?

I also said Pre-60 because yes, there are tons of noob dragoons before that. But who gives a fuck about pre-60 these days? When would anyone care outside of XP what a level 60 and under dragoon wears? There's not much else out there besides SH and Jaridah Peti besides AF. And because you know the game mechanics, then I'm sure you know which jobs get what gear. End game is where dragoons get their plethora of gear choices. This is why you shouldn't see dragoons wearing full af outside of cities.

And I'll just assume that because you see dragoons that are shitty all over, then it's just your server and you are just talking about level 1-60.
