"It's not a problem with the PlayStation 3 unit itself," Sony spokeswoman Nanako Kato told the AP. "For a normal player at home, there shouldn't be any problem."

The downgrades come at a bad time for Sony, which is already coping with a massive recall of laptop batteries it manufactured. On Friday, Dell announced that it was increasing the recall of Sony batteries used in its systems from 4.1 million units to 4.2 million units.

The Wii has old school games I never played that I can now. Roms that don't freeze; roms that don't load you with spyware... ahh... the good old days.

I'll get a PS3 when it recieves a price drop. I can wait to play MGS4 a little while once I have my Wii.

i dont see why people want a ps3 when they have a perfectly good ps2 sitting right there. it doesnt bring anything to the table except prettier graphics. and that is wearing thin with most people in my opinion.

Well both the PS3 and Wii will be interesting, but honestly it's gonna be up to game developers that gonna make which console a better by in the end. The hardware in all three next gen systems will be awesome to see, but like sonos said graphics is wearing thin. People want games with good gameplay and simply fun to use. There is no doubt that the PS3 will have more rpg's and such, while the Wii will have more crazy kid games. But the games that do come out on each system will make the difference.

All my friends can't wait for the Wii, y? Cause it will be affordable, no questions it will work or not, and there there is the main reason SUPER SMASH BROS. I will prob get PS3 once it's better tuned.

And as for Nintendo:

I saw Super Famicom logo on that comercial. SNES fucking rocked the house hardcore. It had perfectly targeted games (Dude, SFII was awesome for teenagers and their angst - And Super Metroid? I had the ability to beat that in 2.36 minutes because I thought Samus would get naked at the fucking end). Then.... N64 fucking hit the market.

Faulty merchendise, poor design, stone-age technology. Their controller's broke easily. They still used the cartridge system (because they said they wanted to allow players to save onto the cartridge, without having to buy a new memory card), and yet a couple months from launch, all the games began to migrate to the memory card system (which had been built into their controllers all along - So what was that bullshit about? Ah yes, I forgot - it was bullshit). Certain accessories were ONLY available through buying a certain game (Rumble Pack w/ Star Fox, Graphics Enhancer w/ Perfect Dark), so if you happened not to like that game, but did like the accessory, your fucked.

I didn't bother with the GameCube. Played a Metroid game for 5 minutes in a store demo and said "This is fun and all, but... Definately not worth 150$+game cost.". Games targeted at the younger audiences kept coming out. That's not a slam to Nintendo, but it certainly tells me where their loyalty lies - With a whiny bitch named Junior that pisses and moans to mom because he doesn't have Mario Super-O-Fun-O Party 8, this time with more mini-mini-games and even less actual substance (yay ADHD!).

In my opinion? Nintendo's too hung up on gimicks. Yea, great, my controller vibrates. Look, if I put it on my lap and it vibrates, I'll make a joke and all my friends will laugh. Great - Do we really need this in the gaming world? No. Back in Super Nintendo, shit like the SuperFX chip was being developed. Actual good shit. Time will tell if Wii is just another gimick.
