Ok I've seen a lot of different earrings on higher lvl PLDs, but I've heard way too many rumors on this and that. Which is better for a PLD to use, Drone Earrings (+3 AGI each) or Dodge Earrings (+3 Evasion each)?

i think it's more of an opinion-based thing than anything else. i dont know a ridiculous amount about exact numbers..just that agi will affect evasion and parry [blocking too? maybe] as well as rng acc..but dont need to worry about that on pld

I've heard everything from AGI helps shield/parry/evasion and evasion being a pure trait therefore being better at evasion than AGI and blahblah. Can anyone confirm which is really better for PLD use?

I prefer AGI earrrings.. and since I'm hume I picked up 30% spell disruption rate down too..
AGI = parry and other stuff
EVA = dodge
I suggest earlier level u get the eva first.. then when u can buy AGI.. buy it.. and use it to level... then u can decide which one u want to use
every paladin plays differently.. some like def earrings some like vit earrings.. some like life belts too ^^;
if every pld uses the same stuff.. that's..weird..

I use Drone Earrings which give me a total of AGI+6. Since then my parry and shield has been activated considerably. Evasion too a little, since 2AGI is like 1 EVA. Agi is better definately. But that's my 2 gil since I have no way to confirm this.

lol I've been using 4 rings depending on situation. They're lv36 rings that give me MND+2, CHR+2, DEX+2, and STR+2. Whenever I solo, I use DEX and STR rings. When I fight in parties, I use DEX and CHR. When I fight in parties and the other paladin/ninja is doing the better tanking, I use DEX and MND. Good to be versatile.
I don't use VIT+ rings b/c I've been seeing a pretty good fighting performance out of me with these rings. And I have like +4 VIT already. And I hate the color orange on a ring. = P

my preference is mass VIT ^^
I have VIT+35 myself but that's my preference. Experiment with all the equipment and when u've decided post here
I stick to AGI and VIT for all equipment from swords,belts,rings,shields ^^;

Is it bad to have a healthy balance of bonuses across the board? Right now, I've got about +6 AGI, +4 MND, +3 VIT, +4 STR, +2 DEX. I figured that getting a balance between them all would be best. Though, I would push towards AGI and VIT boosts slightly. Am I nuts?

Go with stats over raw bonuses anyday. Unless it's an insane raw bonus like "+25% to def". The reason? Agi has three affects I can think of.
1) For ever 2 agi = 1 evasion
2) It increases your ranged accuracy (not really that important)
3) It reduces the chance an enemy will score a crit on you
Just like VIT. Vit is:
1) 2 VIT = 1 def
2) VIT actually decreases the curve in which you recieve damage
So, most people check the equip screen and shrug off the 2vit cause it only gives 1 def. Well, it gives a lot more after that.
Naw, dude, you're not nuts. Spreading it out is fine, just make sure you got what you need. Here's a list:
1 STR = .5 Attack + increased damage
1 DEX = .5 Accuracy + increased SA damage + increased hit ratio + increased critical hit ratio
1 VIT = .5 Defense + decreased taken damage
1 AGI = .5 Evasion + .5 Ranged Accuracy + increased TA damage + decreased critical hits received
1 INT = 1 raw nuke damage + lower Target Black Magic resistance + increased resistance Black Magic
1 MND = 1 healing + lower Target White Magic resistance + increased resistance to White Magic
Now, would a PLD need godly int? Not really... How about DEX? Not godly, but some is needed.
EDIT: Cael was right. AGI is evasion, not def

VIT is def, not AGI. Other two I know are right. But it's late and I'm barely coherent ._.
2 AGI = 1 Evasion I think.
