Not sure what the signifigance is(if any) but I've noticed some foods have different color (graphics) effects when your chocobo eats them. Most give off a red effect but zegham carrots gave off a blue effect and I think I remember something giving off a yellow effect.

On day 12 my chick's endurance raised from poor to substandard. Now she is substandard in both strength and endurance. One day after this change, her personality switched from ill-tempered to patient. I'm anticipating an increase in strength in a couple days, which should switch her back to the ill-tempered personality.

Just want to confirm this;
My chick's personality turned to sensitive just today (day 8 ), and program was listening to music (with only 1 or 2 basic care days so far thrown in) fulltime, no walks or anything.
Food was tokopekko grass x2 (he was sick twice including today D: ), and 2x Zegham Carrots, 1 today & 1 yesterday.
the other days, he was full, so I didn't feed him anything.
You have your chick Listen to music 100% of the time and feed it zegham carrots 100% of the time = no personality*** unknown

it's entirely possible that color used to give to your choco might have something to do with it, but i don't know. it could only, merely correspond to the food directly and not the attribute it raises. testable... but only if all food effects are known, documented, and proven ahead of time... and they're not yet because i don't have enough test subjects. <.<
that works... but if you can afford to make their stats increase is listen to music and 3x zegham carrots/day. my Claire hit Average Discernment on day 28 and my friend who was also on the same kind of deal with physical hit Average Patience as well. i'm Fairly sure that you can get a choco to at least Average now if you feed it and make it do care plans in the most efficient mannor. o.o

My chocobo just hit day 19 this morning and he has black hair and tail feathers. I obtained my egg through the choco quest with Brutus, and only fed him Vomp Carrots, and had him take walks in town an outside of Windy. He started off being ill-tempered then switched to being very patient. His strength is sub-standard while his endurance is a bit deficient, he is also at "regard as a parent" status.

Just to add my bit to the aquired data:
Egg - Quested
Nation - Bastok
Day - 28
Passive Care - Basic since day 1
Food - 3 Sandy Carrots since day 4 (After hatching); 1 Toko grass to cure illness
Stats - All poor
Active Care - Walks only (longest available); Race once to cure boredom
Personality - Easy to care for
Weather - Clear
Color - Black
After day 29 I will be working 100% on Strength and Decerniment via Passive Care. I will only feed Sandy Carrots continually; along with taking the bird on walks to keep affection high & telling the speed story to the chicken until learned.

updated the main post with my choco experiment control group information. more information will be coming on that periodically. If anyone wants to help with control group experiments... they're nearly costless and all you have to do is make sure you're checking it daily. <.<

I'm not sure how this will fit into your research, but my newest choco has an enigmatic personality, and its only visible stat increase is a substandard receptivity.
It's currently on day 12, and I've had it on a steady routine of listening to music since it hatched. It's diet has been somewhat less consistant, a primary diet of vegetable paste, but some herb and carrot pastes, and a few toko. grasses.
I know I'm kinda outside the acceptable limits for variables to really contribute to your project, but I thought it was significant that my choco's highest stat is Receptivity which lead to an Enigmatic personality.

no. that is... completely viable information. hopefully we're going to find out more when branching into primarily basic care + food experiments... but for now i'm stuck on control test group until i get enough repition. but that's good information. ^^

My choco usually gets completely full after 2 carrots, but I'll try
Yesterday I had to feed it 3x Herb paste (AH was out of Zegham carrots ><; ), and checked it again today...it's personality promptly changed from sensitive to enigmatic. So gonna work on that and force feed him carrot again today
Just reportin'~!

At day 16 my chocobo switched back from the patient personality to ill-tempered. Still substandard strength and endurance at day 18. She had the "perky" message 3 times from day 1-18. Each time she was given her usual diet of 1 carrot paste. She was sick on day 15 or 16 where she was given a carrot paste and a tokopekko grass.

I am interested in tying out your plan. I would like a red or black chocobo with highest strength and endurance possible. Please set up a plan for me. I have an egg bought from the mithra in jeuno. Will be raising it in Windy.

Update: my chick is now day 20, she still has the ill-tempered personality. Is this permenant now?
At day 19 she hit level 3 strength (a bit deficient). She is now on vomp carrots. She was sick last night so I gave her 1 tokopekko grass and 2 vomp carrots. Her affection had decreased a level, but after a couple walks and watch overs its maxed again.

my chocobo is on day 40, and it had sensitive personality from day 1. my chocoob has better than average discernment and average receptivity, and fluctuates from "be with you all the time" to "parent" status, depending on the care plan and the amount of azouph greens I use.

Just started raising another chocobo based on the data in this thread, and everything seemed to fit, on day 11 the chocobo's str raised to sub-standard, and insantly developed an ill tempered personality. The following day its endurance raised to sub-standard as well, still ill tempered because strength was still higher. However on day 13, it gained the "very patient" personality, this is quite odd. It is now day 14, still very patient, both str and end still sub-standard.
Relevant raising data: egg was bought (whichever is first egg on the list of vendor in jeuno).
Fed two vomp carrots every day since it hatched, walk in town every single day as well, it has not been sick yet.

with the choco experiment even though it's still a small test group. the results for personality are coming up the same to a T. It's entirely possible that each care plan raises each stat a different amount. we're seeing that every choco that walks is Patient.
so... in order to make yours specifically illtempered. you might want to try feeding it a cupid worm (i haven't tested that personally) but it should lower endurance. or start feeding it toko grass in large quantities (also not completely tested). but basically your str and endurance are very very close together at the moment so you can't tell which's higher in the middle of a level.
also if you can afford it. feed it 3 carrots/day. <.<

Bred Egg under the jeuno tour plan. On day 16 yesterday substandard Str and Endurance. Day 9-10 Endurance jumped to Substandard day 12-14 Strength jumped to Substandard. Chocobo was born with default personality next day went to Enigmatic personality then went back to default personality then went to very patient. Still very patient been on a steady diet of Vomp carrots has been sick twice so have feed 2 tokopekko wildgrass. On the care plans I have been using mostly walking plan 4-5 on basic care!

I started raising a chocobo on my mule in bastok,I got a male, and put him on a diet of zegham carrots, and listen to music care plan. On day 8 he got a sensitive personality, day 9 he was "receptive to anything you might give it" and fed him 3x zegham carrots. On day 10 (wich was yesterday) discernement went up to sub-standard.
I bought the egg in jueno from the mithra npc, it was a "Slightly warm" egg.
