WoW has better graphics....period, and I hate the way they look personaly. As someone stated earlier, Wow looks to cartoon-ish for me. I prefer a more realistic form. I tried a 10 day free trial deal for WoW and it just didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if I like the fact that there weren't any loading screens for different zones...

Don't think that those are the best graphics Blizzard can make. Due to the success of WCIII + TFT, they decided to keep the same general trademark graphics, but improve on detail. It is a unique style, but the graphics are far from "horrible."
I suppose it's really a mater of opinion. FFXI's graphics are definately more "realistic" model-wise, but WoW wins on textures and lighting.

Also, note that none of my screenshots have been through any kind of photoshopping, including brightness/contrast/gaussian blur/overlay, only saving as .jpg from .tga

i play WoW on full settings, i DISGUST it

i played to lv 44 with my undead priest, played maybe 2 month's... im comming back to FFXi... you can say all you want about camping NMs but runnign the same instances over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over AGAIN, really sucks.

the BGs.. well they are fun.. but then you just get kindo bored from getting one shotted by that rouge the ten thousand time

FFXI have some how kept my interest for over 2 years

Mal'ganis was never that bad, but the constant whispers for me to join a Scholo or UBRS group (I played a Priest) made me really really really miss the /anon function from FFXI.

Have you ever actually seen WoW with the shaders turned up? I mean, the world is designed in Warcraft style (which is exaggerated and a little cartoon-ish), but it's gorgeous when you actually adjust the graphics settings correctly. Go turn the graphics down on FFXI so it looks like you're playing on a PSOne and see if your reaction to the game changes, because that's really the difference.

Not saying that anyone should (or shouldn't) play WoW, but this little "OMG it looks awful" stuff gets boring. The game looks great, it's the spell and attack animations that suck. Every time I cast something, I kept hoping that it'd magically change into Firaga III or Burst II or something worth looking at.

I noticed all of those screenshots were zoomed out. Would you care to zoom in on that ugly fuck of a character? That's WoW's graphic problem, the characters are ugly mother fuckers. I don't care how great the shading is or the specs, the characters are insanely ugly and deformed.

The only good thing about WoW, the only thing that saves it from complete suckage, is PvP.

By the way, WoW does have loading screens between zones. I can fraps a video of one, and of intense lag between some of the "mini-zones" that aren't supposed to load at all but should have.

I hope you never play Warcraft III, by the way. If you think that WoW toons look bad, you don't have any comprehension of what they're based on.

I've played and liked Warcraft III. You really can't deny how insanely ugly the characters are, trying to use an old tactical rpg's graphics in an MMO isn't an excuse for such ugly things.
