Ok just like everyone I love certain anime and hate others. To me, a film or series should be made into anime when it has content that can not be done well on a common budget for a real life film or TV series; i.e. big colorful superpowers, giant robots, magically suddenly wearing "fighting clothes" etc. Hence my favorite Animes are Evangelion, Fatal Fury, Vampire Hunter D, X, House of Morecock, etc. But why make animes of realistic life or only a slight variation there of? I mean I hate Cowboy Bebop but would probably like it if it was done with real people. There's no reason for it to be a cartoon. It doesn't add to the effect nor is it some great work of cartoon art like Spirited Away. If we need real life drama of regular people's lives we have a million of those shows. Why take the time to make a cartoon to be just as boring?

99% of people who have seen Bebop do not think it is boring but one of the better ones made. I am in that group. So that would basically make you wrong. No real actors can make the fight scenes, no real boy can fit in a jar like Ed and while you may be able to train a dog, I highly doubt that he would be as smart as Ein.
to summarize. you are stupid. go be gay somewhere else.

i'm pretty sure Ed's a girl..
lol..........
lol Making Anime live action would be nice..
BUT!!!!!
Its is similar to making a Anime into a game.... or a game into a movie... theyre usually not good... i know theres a Gundam Live-action... but ive never actually seen it.... also Dragon Ball has a live action movie (also havent seen it).. and well... So does sailormoon(thank god i havent seen it)...
Bebop was an AWESOME anime... and well... in wont make a good live action... the way i feel is Live-action should be made into Anime
Some movies would be awesome as an anime...
Also to Sonos... haven't you ever seen a Chines Martial Arts movie? Real actors CAN do the fight scenes... and well.. Ed doesnt necessarily need to fit in a box.... and there are dogs that are pretty smart....
And i've heard that all the movies i listed above sucked... and this is the reason why IMO: Technology... thos movies were made a looooong time ago(and probly with a low budget) but if they were to make a Gundam Live-Action(not based on any of the current series) today i would look better and probly BE better... but.... 50+ episodes of anime (in Gundam's case) is a lot bettr than a 2.5 hour movie >.>...
So the purpose of anime is to tell a story using MANY episodes, to build suspense
, rather than a movie... 50 twenty minute episodes every other day to keep you hooked, versus, let's say, 3 2.5 hour movies that really doesnt build suspense until the end of the movie...
Ever notice how After something Interesting/important/shocking/sad/etc. happens it goes to commercial or the end credits? Movies arent like that...
>.> oh man.. i got carried away xD lol well thats enuff for me xD

You have no idea the size of Pandoras Box you've opened for yourself and us by making this thread in favor of Anime.
Just ask a mod to delete it now before the retarded people get on and use the most basic of flames known to man against us.
As for "boring reinactments of life" anime, I loved Azumanga Daioh because I could relate to nearly everything. Sure I was no Osaka, but I fit the bill as Tomo pretty well. I've also had my Kagura and Sakaki moments too. A little of Kaorin as well.
EDIT: "Liked" is such a weak word so I replaced it with "loved" because Azumanga Daioh is still my favorite Anime to this date.

Holy shit, I completely missed that. Thank you, ragin.
Including an American-made gay porn cartoon among any list of "things I like" instantly destroys your credibility for judging the relevance of any other media.

Its hilarious and I know you've seen it at least 5 times. Its not a turn on but definitely good entertainment.

In fact, I've never seen it, but the advertising for that abortion was ubiquitous on certain sites at the time of release.

Anime is Anime... NOT CARTOONS.... get ur facts straight... oh and there's a whole other thread for that argument if u want to follow up on it.
Anime is pretty much everything you won't find in any cartoon... especially any american one.
Anime is sorta like sci-fi... its got its own following of dedicated fans... and doesn't need to try to steal everyone elses like regular network TV does.
I think its better that its left as anime... where the artists/writers decide what they want a character to look/act like.
If it were live-action they'd have to cast a real person and hope they didn't turn what should be a hit into a joke.
In anime all they have to do is get that certain man/woman who can do their voice acting right, which from most of the anime's i've seen i've been satisfied with.
If it were live-action i can only imagine the horror of something like Cowboy Bebop turning out to look something like Power Rangers... bc the budget isn't big enough. :o_O
There may still be the occasional crossover to a real life movie which could work... (ex: Transformers the movie... Steven Spielberg :o_o
.... holy hell now that has got to work, i mean they're actually using the guy who's played Optimus Primes voice for most of the series... now if only they'll sign on David Kaye for the Megatron voice role.)
Anyway.. there r bound to be exceptions like that... but look at the director... cant get much better than that. And on top of that i'm sure they're budget could buy a small country.
However for those who happen to have a vision but aren't necessarily shooting that high, or trying to reach a worldwide audience, but still want to see their dream realized the way they want and not the way they're producers budget will let them, well thats where anime comes in. Its fairly inexpensive compared to a real world series like Stargate SG1,etc. and at the same time they can create just about any scenario their imagination can dream up.
IMO: Anime will always be strictly made in Japan... *American teens and young adults are just too imature to handle anything of the sort being made and broadcast in their own country... Well they may not be but their parents are.*
Don't believe me? How many ppl get the AnimeNetwork on their cable/sattelite? Unless you live in a major city u probably don't... even tho its been available to broadcasters across the US for like 2 or 3 years now.
If you don't know what i'm talking about then i've proven my *point* checkit: http://www.theanimenetwork.com/

You're thinking about Hentai... not Anime.
(Hentai=18+ Adult Onry)
(Anime=PG-PG13 or maybe R in uncut versions... but those are bc a breast gets flashed 1 or 2 times... or mostl likely bc of the graphic language.)
K sry took forever but thats just my opinion.

Cartoon.
South Park is a cartoon. Most of the material in South Park is not covered in traditional animation, i.e. Saturday morning cartoons. Yet it is a cartoon, whether or not it covers adult themes/love/emo etc. Just like anime.
