Mods: Hammering? O.o

Why do I keep getting blocked for 5 minutes at a time for 'hammering'? I spend more time waiting for a single page to load than I do clicking links :|

Because whilst waiting for said page to load, you become impatient and click the "Reply" button multiple times.
The server thinks you're trying to post more than once, so it discards your requests, and redirects you to the "hammering" page.
Now GTFO of flame wars.
This could have been solved in a PM.

To who? I don't know who handles what parts of this site, and there's no general posting section where any/all mods can answer besides here (that I'm aware of). The modbash thread used to be here, which was good for trying to reach the moderation staff as a whole, so I thought I'd post it here.

And no, I don't click anything more than once on this site. I have 10 tabs open to varying places across the net, I just mess with the other 9 while waiting for this one to finish. Only a retard clicks it multiple times.

Also lolalliance.

If you're not smart enough to navigate yourself to the Moderator User List, you don't deserve an internet connection.
Although I expected as much from the Horde.

...I know who's on the userlist, fuckwit. You don't remember me, do you? I'm not exactly a noob.

General moderators can't always necessarily answer a question regarding server behavior, and I'm not about to PM every last one of them just to get an answer. I know many of them check this area frequently, and respond, so I posted an open question here.

When the fuck did you get so anal?

No reason to get angry, kid.
Any active moderator could have answered your question.
Of course, if you had half a brain in the first place, you wouldn't need to ask.

Elaborate.

I'm not hammering. Hell, I opened firefox this morning, loaded my KI bookmark, and was greeted instantly with the hammering page. Explain that, Dr Internet.

Edit: I always get such a laugh when someone calls me kid, considering I'm older than the majority group that likes to use the term.

Yes, but it's on courteous mode; no increased server load (according to them). all just rendering optimizations. Is that what's doing it? It hasn't had any issues until recently, been using it for ages :/

In his defense, I use Fasterfox and have never had problems with Hammering.

I'm not quite sure what courteous mode, since I haven't opted to use it, but the whole point of faster fox is to load pages faster by downloading links beforehand. The speed of how it does it, in courteous mode as well, it seems, is probably quicker than the server will allow.

Try disabling it and accessing the site

Prefetching is disabled, so I shouldn't have that problem; I'll try it for a few hours though, see what happens.

Just wondering, do you have any way to check logs and see if my IP really is hammering the system? Could it be someone trying to crawl/DOS the site and spoofing their IP as mine or one in my subnet?

Edit: LoL got hammering warning again when posting this after disabling the applet >.>
