Ok i am lvl 20 in fishing and i am trying to see what lvl i need to be to actually get a good profit. I can spend all day and night fishing for moat carp and make a stack and sell them, but what i want is a fast profit like
one fish = $$$$$$
any suggestions are welcome.
FISHING---profit???

Noble Ladys sell good....i believe its a Legendary...
What i did one day was looked at the AH at fish prices...Papira are good (6k on alexander) and caught with a frog lure....this guy was pulling them out great on full moon...
but really stick with moats for profit...it sucks but its what needs to be done.

Windurst i believe is the only place to catch them
I was talking to LS about this earlier and they said they are like gold carp...rare pulls. So who knows...maybe buy a frog lure and try it.

hmm i caught a stack of gold carp at port sandy but they would never sell at the AH also i pull in giant catfish by the dozen but noone will buy them, I end up selling them to the store knowing i could get so much more for them.

Yea man...its a shame...
MAYBE just MAYBE fishing for Bastore Sardines (yes the noob fish ^^) and turning them into sliced sardines can make a profit.... (sliced sardines are cooking skill 3-11)

Some of the sections on the left are better than others. Some of the sections on the left is the same misinformation disseminated from teh strategy guide that spread to EVERY GOD DAMN FFXI ONLINE RESOURCE.
I was actually so bored at some point I started commenting all the errors I saw on the sections to the left.

Monke-Onke cap out at (51), I started fishing these at level 40+. Good money when I sold them back to Fishing Guild. I think I received around 600+gil each and I did catch quite a few of them. Only problem is that they don't stack.
Gold Carp caps out at (56), I started fishing these at level 50+. They sell at Fishing Guild for 650+gil each.
Bastore Bream cap out at (86), I started fishing these at level 54+. I did not catch a lot at this time but the more I level the better it seems. They sell at Fishing Guild for 1000+gil

bliu thats where your going wrong thinking to sell at AH everyfish you catch at lvl 20 i was making about 10-15k an hours just selling to the guild
